The Black Lives Matter movement at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is officially being challenged by a new rival campus group, the UCSB White Student Union (WSU).
In response to a series of “black-out†demonstrations last week at UCSB and college campuses nationwide calling for “solidarity with Mizzou†black students, the UCSB WSU decided to form its own antithetical “White Student Walk Out†calling for “solidarity†with white students.
“Join us as we walk out of our classes at 12:30 PM to show solidarity for our brothers and sisters of European descent,†the Walk Out event description reads. “We will march out (preferably chanting something inspiring on the way out) and meet outside of the UCSB MultiCultural Center where we will respectfully voice our complaints. We ask that only self-identified white students and @llies join us.â€
A growth of students have been supporting the satirical WSU movement, as evident by the exponential growth of WSU clubs on college campuses over the past couple of days. Students are demonstrating, using parody in the form of a white student club, how divisive the black separatist movement really is....

Even if this is a joke, it’s still a move in the right direction. If the boonies, who are a minority, can bully admins and faculty into groveling, then so can whites, who are still in the majority in a few places.

Why on earth has it taken so long? If we can’t count on this younger generation to fight back, what chance does this country have? We can’t do all their thinking for them.
Hubby graduated from UCSB with honors in Business Econ. His studies hold him in good stead today. He was there during the halcyon days between the Bof A bank burning and the the knife wielding loco recently. The only bad apples were punk rock groups writing their names on the walls of the walkways. Isla Vista was almost exclusively students then, except for a few Vietnamese refugees.
It shows that many blacks didn’t want equality but to invert the social pyramid of the 1950s.
If they were really clever, they’d be supporting black separatism.
They couldn’t possibly be considered racist for supporting BLM... ;)
Absolutely, totally, completely, 100% correct. This is not about equality, in any way shape or form. They want the upper hand. I think it has been that way all along.

More white people than black—also whites have allies, Asians (Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, etc...) and even some Non-radical Latinos (Cubans, South Americans etc...) Once White people start to use their power (in numbers and wealth) things will change for the better.

Many in the media and the younger generations don’t realize the groups like the BLM are preaching for segregation of the black and white races like we had before LBJ’s ‘great society’ of civil rights changes, of which he said something like ‘we’ll have these n****rs voting for Democrats for a hundred years’.

Like... drinking fountains, restrooms, etc.? That’s what they had when I was a kid. Seems many of them want to return to the old ways, since they refuse to assimilate with the majority population and choose to live in ghettos.
It’s natural for humans (mammals) to want to live with their own kind. Throughout the US, there are Viet Namese, black Chinese, Mexican, Russian, Italian, Jewish, etc., conclaves where entire communities of businesses and residents have chosen to segregate from others. .....The problems arise when these minorities refuse to assimilate and want to establish/impose their own rules for society.
It needs to start happening ... soon.
