I just want to let people know that the lead singer/founder of the group "Eagles Of Death Metal" (the name is a joke - they don't perform death metal) is a conservative Republican and openly so.

Would you ever inject politics into your music?
I think that’s a dirty trick. If you’re inviting people in for a good time and an escape from reality, you can’t fucking sneak in who to vote for. Rock ‘n’ rollers aren’t supposed to be politicians. You can’t be saving whales and working for Greenpeace and be the devil’s servant at the same time. So when I see Bob Dylan at a presidential dinner as a partisan, it’s like, “Dude.†His political credentials were he used to fuck a lot of chicks and take drugs. Oh, wait a minute.
So you think rock stars shouldn’t try to make statements?
I just think if rock ‘n’ rollers got to the point where they stopped blaming Christians and Republicans for everything bad, we might be in a better place again. Think about it: when Conservative Christians ran the world, we had Elvis and real fucking outlaws. I mean, the Hell’s Angels started in 1965. You couldn’t start anything like the Hell’s Angels today. You couldn’t make a movie like Blazing Saddles today.
What’s your take on Obama?
He is a communist. He’s an absolute communist. He’s just a gangster, actually. He doesn’t give a shit about anything. But I did see a picture of him eating an orange with a fork and a knife. That’s fucked up. He’s the whitest black dude I’ve ever seen in my life, that’s for sure. To quote Dave Chappelle, he makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcom X.

I have followed this group for a while now. Good rock music with a comedy twist. I kind of had uneasy feeling when I heard they were targeted because I used to kid my brother (also a fan) that the way the lead singer goes after Obama in concert and on interviews would get him killed maybe one day.
Not really a find. I am a fan - I was away this weekend and I saw no one mention this about the group so I thought I should do a vanity on it and let the info seep out and let the conservative community show support for this group.
Interesting Algore was in Paris spreading his global change crap and wasn’t targeted. He would have been a good catch for ISIS. Makes one wonder...

My tin foil hat did go on for a bit when I heard the news. At first I thought they were targeted for being conservatives. Sort of like how the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was killed.
Thanks. Good to know. Although I doubt whether the terrorists knew or cared. They just wanted to kill a lot of young people at a rock concert.
ISIS says they attacked the theater because people were there for a show of “prostitution and obscenity.”
They hate music unless it’s their call to prayer music.

While that is not 100% true these days (i.e. libs demanding freebies), that is the founding idea of the country and how things should be. The USA was never about free stuff, it was always the idea of free opportunity regardless of race or class. We have become so spoiled in our freedom that we have forgotten how big an issue that used to be and how much it still exists in other countries today.
You’ll notice sometimes how some of the most appreciative immigrants nowadays are those that have moved from a class-based society (ex. India). I’ve met many who are so happy to be here, want to work for what they earn, learn the language, and partake in American customs. We had an Indian couple over for dinner and the husband still talks about how much he loved my wife’s chili.
This band is NOT death metal genre band - the name is ironic. Just an FYI.
Amazing! I just read that people are now downloading their music and making it #1. I never heard of them but now it is more so because the dude is a Conservative and hates Obama.

For additional info, I believe the Eagles part of the name does not mean birds, but the Don Henley, Glenn Frey variety, thus The Eagles (Hotel California) of Death Metal.

Right. They appear to be a bunch of fun-loving rockers. Good for them and the Conservative attitude of some of them.
