Tensions at Yale University hit a boiling point yesterday after an email about Halloween costumes created a week-long controversy on campus.
Students called for the resignation of Associate Master of Silliman College Erika Christakis after she responded to an email from the school’s Intercultural Affairs Council asking students to be thoughtful about the cultural implications of their Halloween costumes. According to The Washington Post, students are also calling for the resignation of her husband, Master of Silliman College, Nicholas Christakis, who defended her statement.

The prof at least did not apologize, but he played ball with the whiners instead of giving them a “Trump” answer like they deserved. Spoiled brats. uck.
The intent of their education was to desensitize the kids and insert a specific brand of amorality which has the potential of helping kids to easily become sociopaths on their way to becoming socialists.
The reason why they practiced with the inner city schools was because most of the kids were being raised by single mothers who would not be aware that their kids were being experimented on.
This is the very reason why professors have noted that incoming freshmen already exhibit these traits. They do not learn them in college, but in grades 4 through 7. Those are the ages they have found to be the most helpful to turn a kid away from their moral roots.
Common Core is the full realization of this type of education.
For that matter the old “McCarthyism” is a myth of the left.

Go to class, maintain a 4.0 GPA, STFU, get your degree, get a job, and then, maybe, you can have an input into important things like that.
Not sure whether “pure numbers” serve as the best measure of “merit.”
You would have to factor in more subjective considerations such as strength of curriculum, strength of school, etc. to put the numbers in context. Also, top-notch SAT scores are somewhat meaningless because far more people attain near-perfect scores (around 1500+, out of 1600) than there are places available.
Extracurricular achievements are important because they tend to distinguish students who are able to do well academically while balancing other commitments (as well as more well-rounded individuals generally) than those who merely study to get good grades and test scores. Essays and recommendations are used to assess an applicant’s writing abilities, work habits, and intellectual curiosity. Pure numbers do not necessarily or accurately reflect these attributes.
For the most part, the students at Yale (and at Harvard, Princeton, etc.) have the “merits” to be there. Whether they take advantage of the enormous opportunities there or end up with common sense views on politics, economics, etc. is ultimately up to them. Many students tend to be liberal, but they are not the “social justice warrior” types who seem to grab all the headlines.
Does anyone else think it’s funny that these people belong to “Silliman” college?

Like the bumper sticker should say, “If you are offended by everything, thank a teacher”.
Even when I went to school in the 70s, the leftist teachers (who are remarkably capitalist when they talk about their own pay checks) were trying to create little SJWs even then.
Yale may be partially happy this happened, as it deflects attention from other major issues and incidences that the university has handled extremely poorly.

Unfortunately there are those (probably like the ones dissing the professor) who got in primarily on Affirmative Action or other similar programs. Judging from the sight of these kids, I am guessing that today's colleges have become the equivalent of high school. They all seem beyond immature -- they have a chip on their shoulder.
When I was in college, I felt like kid compared to the students around me. They were intellectual, self-assured. The ones at Yale & "Mizzou" seem like a bunch of misplaced street kids.
