The experiences that are common to modern era combat Veterans are so uncommon amongst the rest of American society today that a rather interesting phenomenon has taken root it is the solidification of a unique attitude or way of regarding the world a Veterans' Perspective. It's clear to me that this Veterans Perspective is worth trying to consolidate or condense into a single viewpoint.
Core Values - Todays Veterans are all the product of a 100% volunteer force built upon a deep rooted sense of professionalism that comes only from a strong culture of selfless service (or team first attitude) and strict accountability and individual responsibility.
Media & Hollywood - Most Veterans do not appreciate being depicted as victims who have been misled, mistreated and with misguided loyalties.
Distaste for Politics & Politicians - As Veterans, we have been pandered to, misled and lied to as much as any other group.
Appreciative Realists - We know the euphoria of coming home and surviving is often replaced with an emptiness that cannot be described. We know we are imperfect, but also know perfection is a myth.
Patriotism - Regardless of ones political orientation, Veterans share a love for their country that is unshakeable.
Post 9/11 Understanding The fact that our experience is often de-valued by many people who do not have it, is a further contributor to the uniqueness and character of the Veterans' Perspective.
These are a few of the bedrock principals that combine to form the Veterans' Perspective. It is a Perspective that can offer some unique and compelling thoughts for our Nation.
So, this is what I will attempt to articulate through my blog posts on USDefenseWatch.com.
Please let us know if there is a topic you want us to address on the Veterans Perspective.

Welcome to Free Republic.
You seem to have excerpted your own material rather than posting it in full.
Why is that?
I did not ever see Pebble or Bam Bam ever attend school in Bedrock so there being Bedrock Principals (sic) surprises me.
It's the poster's own material.
What stopped the posting of the whole thing?
Sure looks like somebody steering traffic to a blog for profit.
Almost like they are just USING us as an advertising tool.
Thank you. It limited me to 300 words. I am new to this ...
Only because you diddled the Excerpt button.
Leave that alone.
It isn't for bloggers.
I like ‘em fine with onions and tortillas.
LOL! Humble gunner is FR’s veteran and blog pimp gatekeeper, which we all greatly appreciate. As a vet, I appreciate the perspective.
Thanks, from the heart.
PRINCIPLES
At a time far, far away, Conservatism equated to support for us Vets.
Good luck, I think your perspective is valid and needs to be out there on behalf of all who served.
Thank you.
Got it. Thanks.
Half the articles on here link to another site. And, a number of people are posting their own work on FR. I see it every day on FR. Who made you Pope here?
Thank you MontanaJoe. I am just starting out — only done a few but have been thinking about this for a while. Appreciate your support. Always welcome the feedback.
Thank you for the correction. Yes, bad mistake.
If your trying to help Vets? Keep it up don’t let the wankers stop you.
Okay, veteran. Whadda ya got, to say? Speak up, clearly- and not in rhetoric.
