Good point.

I read once that Don Rickles and Bob Newhart are best friends and often go out to dinner with their wives.

I’d love to be at the table next to them for an hour.

They were never married and split in 2010.

Well I guess we need more carey control. He’s just as dangerous as guns.

He sounds like the unstable one and he looks unhinged with that wild gray beard. Poor girl. She should have looked at his track record and stayed away else expected the break up. She was very young.

I found this painting when Robin Williams died. A modern comic's life typically does not mirror his personal life....

Good point. Comedy has changed a lot since those days.

Without knowing the specifics in this case I have to wonder why it is comedians are often personally such miserable people.

Most modern comedy is actually made up of saying very terrible things, scathing and contemptuous and mocking and foul, in a humorous way.

In other words, comedians are often not funny people, they just make you laugh. Sometimes, maybe all the time, despite your better judgement, or even despite the fact that you don't really want to laugh.

What they, the comedians, actually are, however, is often very angry or bitter people, with a very nasty mouth. Plus the ability to laugh while they are spewing foulness. People respond with laughter to deal with the stress of the resulting cognitive dissonance, not because they are amused.

Too bad— what a waste when I was available to replace her love lost. Seriously though so tragic when she could have found another future love more worthy.

“So you’re saying she has no chance?”

(I know. I’m terrible.)

Yes. Looking at the pictures of the two of them, I wouldn’t have picked her as the one likely to commit suicide.

Sadly, she probably believed her self worth came from the fact that she was dating a celebrity. Fame seems to be so important to so many millennials. Prayers for her loved ones.

My impression is that this is a more contemporary phenomenon. One can think of numerous comedians of our parents' generation and see that they seemed just as un-miserable off stage as on: to name a few, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Danny Kaye, Will Rogers, Imogene Coca, Burns & Allen, and someone no one ever hears about now, Mabel Normand.

She did look young. He’s looks like her grandfather with that gray beard.

I feel bad for him. She left him the suicide note. Yuck.

Nothing says,”I loved you,” like a suicide note.

It is also selfish and a horrible burden to place on someone.

When Rickles was roasting Newhart he said, “ Bob keeps saying I am his best friend, I just met Bob for the first time an hour ago.”

What are they going to say when this man passes, nothing.
