Tragically since Obama came into office, the cult of celebrity has soared to breath-taking heights
What was so conspicuously missing during the historic visit of Pope Francis to America: not even a passing mention of our Savior Jesus Christ, in his address to Congress and the General Assembly of the United Nations; any sign of the Saviors revered Cross.
President Barack Obama was criticized for ordering all religious symbols covered up when he delivered remarks on the economy at Georgetown University in 2009. But his arrogant demands were at least kept front and center by some quarters of the mainstream media.
On this his last day on American soil, the Jesuit Pope has skirted criticism from all but the less trafficked blogs for a logo that comes straight from a sort of Charlie Brown celebrity cult; in which the Vatican has allowed Francis to become a caricature of himself.
Blog Novus Ordo Watch calls it the Luv Logo in a piece entitled Vaticans Luv Logo for Francis Trip to United States Lacks Minor Detail: The Cross.
Odd, was it not? And though I deliberately missed the man's address to a Joint Session, Rush was understandably compelled to play one or two sound bytes, and the handful of lines I did hear were disturbing, to say the least.
First, something about the role of Christianity being world peace, recalling for me Jesus and His reminding his apostles that He did not bring peace but a sword, and His discussing why this would be so.
Then a strange line to inspire inappropriate guilt among Americans for the displacement of aboriginals. From the same office that once divided the "new world" between Portugal and Spain, and authorized slavery among those same original inhabitants.
But, more than anything, no mention of Christ from His vicar? Was he ashamed of the Lord? Does he actually believe?
Faux’p Prances (Fope prances).
False pope Frances prances around promoting communism.
