Why Does GOP Let Libtards Run The Debates?
Free Republic ^ | 9/17/2015 | Mr. K

So I started watching the debates, and it was nothing but "He said this about you- what do you say about that?"

Over and over.

Why does the GOP let the libtards run the debates? Every single election... It's not like FOX news was any better this time around (ok marginally) but how about a debate moderated by Rush, Sean, and Mark Levin?

Would HilLIARy and Bernie Sanders sit through questioning by Rush and Hannity and Levin? (would they survive being asked ACTUAL questions?)

Think about any other organization picking a CEO from among a variety of candidates. Would hostile outsiders be allowed to guide the process? Wouldn’t it also be used for ‘team-building’ and encouraging positive attitudes by everyone in the organization?

Fox News was so bad that CNN IMO actually looked professional in comparison.

The so called debate, (actually a gang-up on Trump fest), was as if Tapper was a school teacher dragging around little Johnny around the classroom and brought before each little tyke to ‘say, “I am sorry, and won’t be naughty to you anymore”).

What a pile of crap that was nothing more than to boost ratings of a failing network.

Totally agree. I hope Trump and Cruz start mentioning this anytime they are in front a microphone or interviewed for an article.

We DEMAND different moderators. Bring on Rush, Hannity and Levin. Bush, Fiorina, all others will be shaking in their boots. Trump will finally stop getting gotchya questions and conservatives will get the right questions asked.

Rush, Hannity and Levin as moderators would be the Dream Team. Trump needs to set this up on One America News Network, OANN. And Sarah Palin can have the first interview with Donald Trump which is held on site at the debate location showing supporters in the background.

I agree. Especially in a primary debate, the libs don't even ask the questions the voters care about. Who should be on the $10 bill? Are you kidding me?

The party should follow the NFL model. The party owns the debate, the copyright, the rules and the moderators (referees). They solicit bids from networks to televise the event but the broadcaster has no call or control over the debate, the format or who is invited (i.e. the starting lineup).

What's so difficult, Rinse?

The Republicans actually want to lose. Yes, they do.

They want to be the defensive force against the left that has taken over the Dem party. They can advocate for their so-called principles, lose, and still look god. They can say they worked for something but could not get the votes. It’s little more than feckless incompetence waiting out their pension by showing up every day and doing a mediocre job at whatever they do.

It’s my “Harlem Globetrotter” theory. As long as the Globetrotters needed a goofball team to play against that they would beat every time, the Washington Generals had job security.

Fox News was so bad that CNN IMO actually looked professional in comparison.

The behind the scenes conspiracy by the Fox News imbeciles to ambush Trump took care very nicely of the "fair and balanced" meme; perhaps destroyed it permanently. All to satisfy the ambitions of the Blonde Bimbo.

Yes, never thought I'd see the day that Fox would enable CNN to look "professional."
I did sense one brief moment when the female inquisitioner pushed herself into the wrong side of the debate.

CNN 1, Blonde Bimbo 0

What's so difficult for females to understand the difference between asking questions and challenging answers they don't "approve of?"
Calling out non-responsive answers is a whole other issue.

Probably because television networks have historically staged and moderated presidential debates. The GOP needs to break away from that and begin setting up their own debates and moderators and contracting with networks to carry them.

The fact that all networks are leftist to varying degrees is a real problem, but there are ways to get around that in the internet age.

rinos + libtard dems = NEW WORLD ORDER CROWD

yes the conspiracy that chooses candidates from BOTH sides and sits back and LAUGHS at WE THE PEOPLE on election day.. vote sucker vote twice or thrice if youre a dem

zero interest .... 0.1% ers made billions
middle class lost buying power while being told THERE IS NO INFLATION
jobs CONTINUE TO LEAVE THE USSA for China and India
open borders brings in cheap bottom feeder labor
depleting the military will lead to a ussa capitulation without war
obamacare unconstitutional but a repub appointee walks it through the supreme court. i never saw a more preposterous proceeding that roberts coaching the wh lawyer who was mumbling and stumbling but roberts to the rescue and coached him through to then decide in favor of something that is baltantly UNCONSTITUTIONAL
FOLLOWED BY RULING ON GAY MARRIAGE ...legislating from the bench

now do you really think a dung beetle and his master V coudl really pull this off without the support fo the “opposing party” in congress...
I dont...

So that is why the likes of Carson Fiorino Trump Cruz are FEARED
they are not necessarily clued in on the “agenda”..
which is not to say they couldn’t be bought or eliminated..

The answer is simple: Idiots like Jake Tapper of the Clown Nuisance Network make the idiots on the stage look brighter in comparison.

Yeah, I thought those questions were rather infantile. Who cares what candidate A said about candidate B. How about ask questions on plain policy?

The problem is simply the nature of journalism. Namely, journalism is entertainment, and journalism is criticism. Actually, the Republican Party is to blame for allowing it.

The Republican Party assigned the first debate to Fox New Channel on the basis that FNC is the least biased against Republicans. FNC actually got off easy when Trump lit into Megyn Kelly. He might have pointed out - in front of a large live audience to back him up - that FNC got the gig because the audience of Republicans trusted FNC not to play gotcha. He could have warned that FNC had a lot to lose by risking that reputation, and the ratings that went with it.

If they didn’t switch gears - they probably couldn’t - Trump might have done an about face and stalked off the stage to cheers from the audience. He would have established a position of talking down to journalists - and nobody would have wondered who the alpha was.

The way to get away from the journalists would be to put on large-venue events for debates - and control the microphones with chess timers. Let every chess timer count down at a rate proportional to its time remaining, whenever no one had his microphone turned on - in which case all other timers stop and the open-mike timer runs at real time.

No moderator required - and no need to try to get someone to broadcast it; put it up on an RNC web site, and invite C-Span and anyone else who volunteers to put it on cable live.

No need to make a debate “on foreign policy,” or “on domestic policy,” the candidates would define the topics.

And Ted Cruz would actually get some air time . . .
