“...Cruz is not a natural born Citizen...”

Opinions vary. Especially the opinions that matter.

The opinions that matter are those of the Founding Fathers.

Note the reference to Natural Law in the first sentence of our Declaration of Independence.

It is crystal clear that the Founding Fathers used the Natural Law definition of 'natural born Citizen' when they wrote Article II. By invoking "The Laws of Nature and Nature's God" the 56 signers of the Declaration incorporated a legal standard of freedom into the forms of government that would follow.

President John Quincy Adams, writing in 1839, looked back at the founding period and recognized the true meaning of the Declaration's reliance on the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." He observed that the American people's "charter was the Declaration of Independence. Their rights, the natural rights of mankind. Their government, such as should be instituted by the people, under the solemn mutual pledges of perpetual union, founded on the self-evident truth's proclaimed in the Declaration."

The Supreme Court of the United States has never applied the term “natural born citizen” to any other category than “those born in the country of parents who are citizens thereof”.

"Come on..he was a natural born citizen at birth being born to an American mother."

Do you know the difference between 'Positive Law' and 'Natural Law'?

Cruz IS a Natural Born Citizen. His mother was a citizen of the US, over the age of 16, when he was born. Doesn’t matter that he was born in Canada, where she happened to be living at the time. Don’t fall for the libs’ nonsense. They’re trying to make trouble, because conservatives have made trouble about Obama from the get-go.

Who finally gave up his Canadian citizenship in 2014.

As Breitbart would say, "So?" He's been an American citizen since birth, and has lived in THIS country ever since his parents moved back to the US.

Also you’d think his mother would be more in the picture but she isn’t. I know she is more reserved but still her son is seeking the presidency.

Why should she put herself out there, when she would likely be torn up in the press? Looks what's happening to her son here! She may not be a very public person, I don't know.

Most Trump or Cruz supporters probably would be very comfortable with you as their neighbor, (or they should be!)

Bill Still seriously? And people complain that the media is digging dirt on Trump and we have people who believe the likes of Bill Still about Cruz? I am starting to not care who wins as I am sure we will get what we deserve.

See post #55 this thread. I will say it is a small minority, but there is a core of Trump supporters that can out Paul the hardiest of Paulist!

One of the earliest survival tools you can develop is discerning intelligence from gibberish.

Then, as a bonus, actually ignoring the gibberish, except when it is entertaining.

If so, the the establishment should approve of a Trump/Cruz ticket, like approved of a Reagan/Bush ticket.

To put the conservative first, as Reagan/Bush did, the order would have to be reversed.

Cruz/Trump.

So I guess when Cruz assumes the office and takes residence in the White House, you’ll be protesting across the street with your little placards like the other crazies. Have fun!

Do you? This whole topic has been well debunked. Natural Born has a distinct meaning in America which has been very precisely and legally delineated since our Nation’s early years. Laws of other countries, philosophical arguments and opinions are not relevant in discussing America’s longstanding definition of Natural Born Citizen other than as historical interest and context for why definition was thought to be essential.

Well debunked by who? The media won't even utter the term Natural Law even though it is in the first sentence of our founding document. Learn to think for yourself.
