COULD TED CRUZ END UP AS THE ESTABLISHMENT CANDIDATE? Strange as it might sound, its possible.
By Scott McKay 8.20.15
Have you looked inside the latest CNN poll? Youll find a very interesting number namely, that Jeb Bushs approval-disapproval numbers sit at a devastating 35-57.
That doesnt look like the inevitability weve been sold by his surrogates, does it?
What seems quite apparent so far is the GOP establishment, and the Chamber of Commerce crowd who forced Mitt Romney down the throats of an unenthusiastic Republican electorate four years ago, cannot produce a nominee in this cycle. Each poll which gives a majority of the vote to candidates of some stripe of insurgency Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul makes that clear.
And while the establishment is in poor enough odor, its problems are magnified by the awful performance of candidates acceptable to it. Bush has made one inexplicable gaffe after another amid a campaign seemingly designed to alienate Republican voters in hopes of attracting Democrats and independents. Scott Walker has managed to couple a stellar record of governance with a stunningly vacant message; his campaign advisors are guilty of pronounced malpractice. John Kasich coupled religious sanctimony on Medicaid expansion with #BlackLivesMatter pandering on the way to five percent in the polls, and this has been characterized as success. Chris Christie appears destined to be out of the race by Labor Day. And Marco Rubio, despite a terrific performance at the debate in Cleveland, simply has not been able to generate any traction.
In a 17-person field, whats most important is survival.

If so, the the establishment should approve of a Trump/Cruz ticket, like approved of a Reagan/Bush ticket.
Imagine you’re a member of the GOPe and your choices in the presidential race come down to Donald Trump or Ted Cruz? I think Trump and Cruz have already made some kind of deal regarding the race, but folks the deck of cards is in our corner now.
Would be great if that happens.
I know an author, that needs some attention.
So far Cruz does not seem to gather much broad support. He may be a good candidate for VEEP bringing in the far right voter.
Cruz would be the establishment choice when he and Trump are the last men standing.
We are just not going to vote for any of The Cheap Labor Express candidates:
¡Yeb!
Rubberio
NJFatBoy
Grahamnesty
Huckster
Fiorina
Pataki
Kasich
Minimum requirement is willing to uphold to the rule of law, no others need apply.
Cruz is part of the cheap labor wing of the GOP and that makes him part of the establishment.
I would argue the point, but Einstein said it best.
Cruz is great. If the GOPe grabs onto him, it will be on his terms, not theirs.
Like the sound of that.
“Cruz is not a natural born Citizen. Won’t vote for any ticket that includes his name. That also applies to Jindal, Rubio, and that PunJab from South Carolina.”
I agree!
You're not right.
He is not a naturalized citizen. He was a citizen at birth. What does that make him in your world?
Come on..he was a natural born citizen at birth being born to an American mother.
Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock
A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) of the INA provided the U.S. citizen parent was physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child’s birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen, is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen, is required for physical presence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.) The U.S. citizen parent must be the genetic or the gestational parent and the legal parent of the child under local law at the time and place of the childs birth to transmit U.S. citizenship.
We see all the GOPe folks here bashing Cruz
The establishment will have to notify the LSM/establishment mefia if they want Ted Cruz to be pushed. But they won’t do that unless Ted promises to stop all this Constitution-smonstitution crazy talk.
