Style doesnt get the job done. I believe that Trump, rough edges and all, would
I knew I was cutting against the grain and going against conventional political wisdom when, on Tuesday, I offered my presidential Pick Six of the candidates I like best in this race and Donald Trump was at the top of the list. After a media week of pointless conflicts with Megyn Kelly, of complaining about debate questions, and of generally giving his critics everything they thought they needed to write off his candidacy how could I still think he would be a good president?
Its a fair question that deserves a thoughtful response.
First of all, I wouldnt say Ive endorsed Trump per se. There are several candidates I think would make good presidents on my Pick Six list, and hes one of them. But it still makes sense that you would want to know why hes one of them.
Its not just because hes a fighter, because all of the people on my list are fighters for the right things. They just have different styles and they all fight differently.
Hey, why don’t we just continue to elect those from the political class. Obviously, our government has prospered immensely with these fine folks. /sarc
Trumps edges are not rough, they are well honed and sharp it is the art of a successful confidence man on full display, what you see is not what you get.
Then the next president after Trump (hopefully a true conservative...Cruz maybe), can put things right. Trump as the brakes, then Cruz later on as the steering wheel. Works for me.
I enjoyed the piece and had no idea Mr. Trump had a book out about how to bring America back to greatness. I don’t mean to be nitpicky, but it does seem like whoever Mr. Cain depends on to proof read his articles dropped the ball in the first few paragraphs.
This is it in a nutshell. I cannot fathom why most people cannot grasp this simple concept. This is EXACTLY why we need to get behind Trump at this point. The bottom line is that Trump is not beholden to anyone. He does not need to fear polling and such, and he won't. When it comes to getting the job done, he will, and he'll do it fearlessly, which is exactly what America needs at this point.
Trump/Cruz 2016, Cruz/Carson (/Walker/Palin/etc.) 2024
Above is my post from earlier today. In a perfect world, I'm squarely for Cruz for Prez. I've given significant money to his campaign already. But if Trump survives, that is an “if”, though I'm starting to think it likely given his resilience, then his popularity could carry him all the way to the Oval Office. If so, I sure would like Cruz down the hall form him.
Almost perfect! And I think Cruz is thinking that same thing. But I'd like to see Trump work on the nation's problems for just four years, then move on to a cranky senior statesman role. So, perfect:

Here is a great Trump interview with the Chicago Tribune Editorial board, 6/29/15. It is long, but you don’t have to listen to much of a it, to get a truer sense of what DT would probably be like in the “Oval Office.”
Notice how respected he is by the questioners and how complete and accurate his answers are. Notice also how he gives a complete, no sugar coated answer on the problems facing Chicago and Illinois face.

First of all, it will be known as “Trump, the Presidency” and feature George Ross as Chief of Staff. Don Jr. will be the press secretary and Ivanka can do whatever she wants.
Don’t be ridiculous. Donald Trump is one of the most successful businessmen in America. He didn’t get there by being a con artist. You may not like his ideas for the country but that does not mean he’s not sincere and honest.
