Trump's best chance for victory would be as the GOP nominee
From the very beginning of the first GOP presidential debate, Donald Trump was in the spotlight and under fire from Fox News commentators. The first question asked for a show of hands of all candidates who would not pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee. Only Donald Trump raised his hand, which led to the first of many confrontations during the debate. He was challenged by moderator Brett Baier and lambasted by Senator Rand Paul for buying and selling politicians. While Trump declared that he wants to run as the Republican nominee, he is wise to keep his options open.
The Republican establishment is terrified of Trump, who can finance a third party campaign and is independent of special interests. They will continue to mercilessly attack him, hence Trump is smart to maintain leverage and keep open the third party alternative.
It may also provide a needed choice for the American people. If the presidential nominees are Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Jeb Bush, or another RINO, Trump should enter the race to give voters a real alternative. The last thing the country needs is another Bush or Clinton in the White House.
If that is the HORRIBLE choice we get left with, I’ll vote Trump, because at that point its a stark choice.
Do you want America to be a swamp of illegal Mexicans, raping your children to death forever
OR
not
To equate a Jeb Bush presidency with a Hillary Clinton presidency is insane. Do you want another justice department that wont prosecute Lois Lerner, an IRS that goes after conservative groups, and more supreme court justices like Kagan and Sotomayor. You might say what about Roberts, but again to equate Roberts with Kagan or Sotomayor is just plain foolish.
Bush would be a weak RINO. He is a weak leader.
Clinton will thank him, is the plan from the start
Stop it, just stop it already.
The whole notion of propping up Trump fell apart last night when it became apparent that Bush is a horrid debater who generates zero buzz and whom nobody likes. It’s now clear that Bush is NOT going to be the nominee because he’s not even going to the get the level of support in the Establishment that Romney got.
Donald Trump didn’t need to be on the stage last night to make Jeb Bush look bad. Bush did that all by himself. Cruz, Walker, even Carson, and to an extent Huckabee all had solid nights and would have had them with or without the Donald on stage and Bush would have still sucked.
It’s time for people to dump Trump and head for the real conservative(s) in this race. Bush is a non-factor now.
Clinton will thank him, is the plan from the start
“I wonder how many liberal votes Trump would pull? “
I would expect that most of the Trump viewers on TV would be dem’s.
Just saying.... You might be surprised.
I held my nose and voted for John McCain. Same with Mitt Romney. Not going to do that again with Jeb if he is the candidate.
He knows it full well as does the RNC hierarchy. Its called ,"The Art of the Deal" matey. The RNC knows that if the Donald leaves the fold their chances for the Presidency are less than nil and they would probably lose the Congress too. The Donald, as long as he's nbr. one, has them by their short and curlys. He's calling the shots as a good negotiator should.
Why would’nt Trump pull in many liberal votes? Have you counted how many posts on FR claim Trump is a liberal? If those claims are true, Trump should win in a landslide.
If trump goes third party and Cruz and Palin go too, I would have no choice but to join them.
If Perot hadn’t run, those voters likely would have stayed home or voted 3rd-party.
Why Boehner has an adult beverage in most pictures?
Is he really a lush?
The argument could easily be made that Hillary would be the lesser evil we are always told we have to vote for.
If Jeb (or Kasich or Christie) is nominee. I hope Trump goes third party. He wont if it’s Cruz.
Consider this hypothetical -
Say you end up with Yeb! as the nominee because the GOPe has stacked the process in their favor. Trump can either take his billions and go home when folks have been disenfranchised, or he can singlehandedly offer a viable option. What would you prefer Trump to do?
Regardless of that, ex ante, wouldn’t you want Trump to threaten GOPe with a dead man’s trigger so that they don’t pull any funny business (well, more than they already have) over the coming months?
Trump at LEAST has what used to Republican, and Democrat, ideals when it comes to the business and economy. Not to mention immigration. At the very least it's unknown how exactly he will govern but it's guaranteed it won't be far left. That would hurt his own business.
Cruz is a good man and a conservative ...which is why he won’t get the nomination .
