No, there wasnt, Jimmy, and you messed it up anyway.
Dear God, I lived through his 4 year travesity; thanks for the memories, Jimmah.
Back then he likely would have been impeached for buffoonery by a still educated electorate...
There also wasn’t a president back when he was president.
Yeah, you might not have gotten elected.
Yeah, it would have been pretty tough with someone reporting the truth.
And more lucky that there was no Internet.
Well fortunately for you, carter, there’s still a NYT to fudge your book sales numbers putting you ahead of Cruz as if THAT could possibly be true
And they still have the readership that’ll by that McConnell level lie
And FR was still in its infancy. We were posting on 80 column cards in those days.
It didn’t matter, the press that was there still beat you up. Besides that, people took elections a bit more seriously as it affected their pocketbook.
I have to say that back then the MSM wasn’t quite as liberal and I remember them going after Carter pretty hard.
yup- carter is the reason i am a conservative today...
>>”Carter, in a one-liner that could take Twitter by storm, quipped: Fortunately, there was no Fox News when I was president.”<<
Not in 1979, but there was a Jimmy Carter interview with Fox News in 2005; about Jimmy’s religious views and his “born again Christian” values... Read on:

What a dolt. But also fortunately for him, most of the TV news actually reported news when he was president. Now they just pander for left wing causes.
Didn’t Jimmah’s mother express regret over not ... drowning him?
And JEB’s Mom has warned us off him. A mother knows these things.
Jimmuh, if there were a Fox News back then, you’d never have gotten past the status of peanut farmer.
STFU and die already. You’ve sucked far more than your share of oxygen, cretin.
He’s at least part of the reason there is a Fox News today.
Fortunately for the US and the world the peanut farmer from Plains didn’t get a second term in 1980 thanks to Ronald Reagan.
Ah, Memory Lane!
I was 16 when Carter took office. *SPIT*
My folks had an 18% Mortgage on our home. Credit Cards (they had ONE!) were 22% interest.
Gasoline? WHEN you could get it, you had to wait in long lines for it.
Electric and natural gas bills through the roof!
My folks both worked, but I know they were hanging on by their fingernails. Sis was still in High School; I graduated early and joined the Army BECAUSE THERE WERE NO JOBS and Uncle Sam would help me pay for a USEFUL college degree. (Note that I did not say, ‘College Education,’ or ‘College Experience,’ LOL!)
We ate a LOT of Mac-n-Cheese and hot dogs. I mean, it’s not like we were starving to death, but we certainly were NOT getting ahead or THRIVING.
Now why does that seem so familiar, 39 years later?
Ronaldus Magnus was the first President I was old enough to vote for. And I never looked back...though I am STILL looking for another Reagan.
Going on 40 years, now...
That’s why he was re-elected. What...?
A BIG FU TO YOU JIMMY
