Its old news that Jimmy Carter believes Jesus would support gay marriage and some abortion. But Fox News? Well, Carter doesnt like that.
Earlier this week, NY Times reporter Philip Galanes sat down for lunch with the former president and black author Jacqueline Woodson to discuss issues of race and religion, including the confederate flag, black-white relations and same-sex marriage.
Galanes pointed out that both Carter and Woodson went door to door as Christian missionaries when they were younger. Woodson went as a Jehovahs Witness, but no longer practices.
Galanes understood. Theyre not so hot on gay and lesbian issues, he posited.
But I still consider myself a Christian, Woodson who is lesbian responded. I deeply believe in many Christian values: love people; do the right thing; know that theres good in everyone, that Gods looking out for all of us. Sounds like Woodson is picking and choosing what parts of Christianity she likes.

I wished FOX was there when you were president, you made a complete ass out of yourself and your brother Billy helped you all the way....remember “Billy Beer”? LMAO
We didn’t need Fox News to know you were a terrible President.. The problem today is half of the American Public have no common Sense to know that Zero is worse than Jimmy Boy!
Ya gotta Luv “Jimmy”, I joined the US Navy in 1980 because HIS, FORDS and Nixons FUCKED up “Policies” KILLED whatever jobs were available in Central Iowa and pretty much everwhere in the Agricultural Mid-West. As late as 1984(when I re-enlisted the second time) there were still NO JOBS in C. Iowa. I then left Iowa permanently and didn’t return until 2008 when I bought my acreage in W. Iowa(Nebraska had some of the HIGHEST Property Taxes ANYWHERE/Iowa was MUCH cheaper)!
We didn’t need Fox news to tell us how bad you STANK, Jimmuh, we could smell you all the way from across the country.
Please go back to your peanut farm and do the only thing you know how to do well; stare at things as they grow.
Oh, and shut yo’ mouf!
I have found memories of gas rationing, only being able to get gas on “odd days” according to number on my license plate. I remember those high interest rates on houses, too.
And can't we just wait until Ex-president 0bama opines and comments on EVERYTHING, EVERYDAY for how many decades to come?
Jimmy, Your incompetence was so transparent that even a fawning media couldn’t hide it from the public.
Actually Carter did a much better job after his term than in it.
Mainly charity work, eradicating diseases in Africa, monitoring elections. More visible and effective after serving as president than either Bush for example, and not a selfish as Clinton.
Because there was no Fox News, the mainstream media felt free to report on Jimmy's failings.
If FNS were around when he was in the White House, the big networks and newspapers might have assumed that they could leave all the negative stuff to Fox News and just gone on like Jimmy was great.
Maybe that's not exactly true -- Obama benefits from being the first Black President and Jimmy didn't have that card in his hand or up his sleeve -- but it's not clear that Fox News has actually hurt Obama.
Obama supporters -- and that includes the major media -- just ignore what Fox reports and don't bother to investigate further. Without FNS, they might ask more questions and dig for information.
I'd agree, but that's a pretty low standard, isn't it?
Sort of like saying not quite as self-centered as ObaMao, not quite the drinker as Ted Kennedy, not quite the b*tch as Nancy Pelosi . . .
Every night, at prime time, Jimmuh.
Every night you peckerwood self-righteous piece of trash. And you've blocked that from your memory?
Horse pucky.
What a wimpy thing for an exPOTUS to say: My presidency couldnt withstand a fair and balanced press?
Fortunately for you, moron...unfortunate for America.
We can thank Carter, however, for pushing people into Reagan.
Would that would happen now.
Obola...worst President in my lifetime.
Jimmah...worst ex President in my lifetime (Truman,Ike,LBJ,Nixon,Ford,Carter,Reagan,Bush Sr,Clinton,Bush Jr).
Policitians are uncomfortable about that whole “Freedom of the Press” thing.
