Fortunately for the US and the world the peanut farmer from Plains didn’t get a second term in 1980 thanks to Ronald Reagan.

Ah, Memory Lane!
I was 16 when Carter took office. *SPIT*
My folks had an 18% Mortgage on our home. Credit Cards (they had ONE!) were 22% interest.
Gasoline? WHEN you could get it, you had to wait in long lines for it.
Electric and natural gas bills through the roof!
My folks both worked, but I know they were hanging on by their fingernails. Sis was still in High School; I graduated early and joined the Army BECAUSE THERE WERE NO JOBS and Uncle Sam would help me pay for a USEFUL college degree. (Note that I did not say, ‘College Education,’ or ‘College Experience,’ LOL!)
We ate a LOT of Mac-n-Cheese and hot dogs. I mean, it’s not like we were starving to death, but we certainly were NOT getting ahead or THRIVING.
Now why does that seem so familiar, 39 years later?
Ronaldus Magnus was the first President I was old enough to vote for. And I never looked back...though I am STILL looking for another Reagan.
Going on 40 years, now...

“I deeply believe in many Christian values:”
You need to believe in one thing, Jesus Christ as Son of God sent to die for your sins. Be loving and kind is moot if you do not believe. Believing also entails followings His Word.
To: PROCON
Yup. If Fox had been around, his presidency would have been a failure.
To: PROCON
If there had been a FOX News, Jimmy would have lost in an even bigger defeat to Ronaldus Magnus.

Oh, those are memories.
In 1984 my wife and I bought our first house at a 13% interest rate, and that was the cheaper VA rate.
It took Reagan a few years to turn it around, but turn it around, he did.

Jimmah is finally right about something, had Fox News been around he may well not have served his full four incompetent years.

My fond memories of the Carter years:
- Driving a gas guzzling clunker because even they were cheaper than an 18%+ auto loan.
- Working two part-time jobs while carrying a full-time college load.
- An economics course which promoted a theory called the Phillips Curve to explain why unemployment and inflation would both continue to rise in tandem indefinitely.
- A sinking feeling that even when I earned a useful degree, I'd never be able to get a decent paying job or start a family.
- Burning wood because fossil fuel based energy was so expensive.

Didn’t need a Fox exposé to show that you were ineffectual, Jim.

Think of it this way, Jimmy: your approval rating back then had nowhere to go but up. So FoxN couldn’t have hurt you too much.
