Leftists want the Minnesota flag taken down because it shows white men working on a farm and an Indian with a spear.

The Star Tribune reported:
“The Minnesota state flag depicts a white man as a hardworking, rugged individualist, and an Indian riding a horse and holding a spear.
The current interest in the removal of the Confederate battle flag from public displays and store shelves provides an excellent opportunity to examine what the Minnesota state flag represents. The images on the flag are interpreted by state documents as innocuous symbols of the state’s history. A critical examination of what the flag is saying, however, should make Minnesotans reconsider what their state flag projects about their state.
The state flag of Minnesota is often something that is taken for granted. Thousands of people see the flag flying without giving it a second thought. First unfurled in 1893 (a date found on the flag), it has the state seal featured prominently in its center. The seal was based on a painting by Seth Eastman and was promoted by Gov. Henry Sibley; it did engender criticism when first used in 1858, but was not changed.
The “great symbolism” of the figures on the seal, as described by the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, include an American “Indian on horseback … riding due south and [representing] the Indian heritage of Minnesota. The Indian’s horse and spear and pioneer’s ax, rifle, and plow represent tools that were used for hunting and labor” (Minnesota Legislative Manual).
A close examination shows the central figure to be a white pioneer dressed in work clothes, wearing a wide-brim hat and pushing a plow. He is an iconic image of a hardworking, rugged individualist who works alone to chop the trees, plow the land and protect his home. He is looking over his shoulder at the Indian, who is riding a horse and holding a spear.
While the stooped over WWII vet shuffles along with his cane because the woman in the electric cart has spent all "dat welfare dollah" on Ho hos and 2 liter bottles of Pepsi..

Now that they bring it up it looks to me like the white dude’s working, the Indian’s out having a good time, and they are both minding their own f’n business... unlike certain 21st century busybodies.
Yep. Imagine a football game where one team (we'll call them the Libbies) gets to play offense all the time. And the other team (we'll call them the Conserves) must play defense, all the time, even after a Libby fumble or interception.
Well, in a situation like that, the Libbies are most probably going to win, and win big. The Conserves can slow them down, but that's about it.
The only hope for the Conserves is that they get a bold new coach, one who starts playing offense whether the Libbies like it or not.

As soon as I saw the Indian on this flag, I knew there would be trouble... then the whole insanity of the Confederate flag started... and here we are.
It always gets worse before it gets better. I think normal people just need to start saying to these agitators, "No. Go f*** yourself and everyone that looks like you."
And in the meantime boycott everything Mark Dayton has ever touched.
You'll really see "silly" when the libs declare the Star Spangled Banner as too war-like and imperialistic....and demand it be replaced by "God Bless America".
Don't laugh, they've tried it many times in the past.....and will try again eagerly because the low-information folks are sillier today than ever before....and would like to see our anthem replaced by a peppier, swingier, non-historic ditty.
The long-range idea is to replace everything that smacks of our being a great, unique country, to replace our anthem, our national and various state flags, water down our holidays, traditions and principles, denigrate Christianity, patriotism and replace individuality with marxist conformity, group-think, herd-mentality, re-education courses and sensitivity-training.
In short, destroy, eradicate and replace as many of our moorings and anchors as possible.
All this is already begun and is on the move.....apace and according to plan.

So fly a ripped t-shirt with a black man pointing a weapon. Problem solved. Our society is going nuts.
I once through a black Corporal out of field day formation for wearing a t-shirt that said “It’s a black thing, you wouldn’t understand” I was called on the carpet for being a racist. I eventually told my CO that I’ve never been a racist but if this world keeps calling me one, I will become one. I turned my back to him and walked away. A sign of pure disrespect to a man I had lost complete respect for.
I guess he thought about, I’ll never know. But he never approached me again.

How do they know it’s a white guy? Looks the same shade as the Indian guy on the horse.
What’s the problem???....the white guy was tilling the Earth and the Indian was hunting wild game....both viable sources of nourishment and they could each trade with one another, the results of their efforts.....

I was looking for a Tennessee flag to fly along with my US flag the other day and I noticed that one of the big-box, home improvement stores offers every state flag except for one, Mississippi. It appears to be a policy that predates the latest battle flag uproar. Ironically, a person of that state could buy the flag for mexico from them, just not their own state flag. They have no qualms about doing business in Mississippi though since they have over 100 stores scattered about.

Next they’re coming for the ‘white guy’ safe-to-cross the street symbol.
The Minnesota Historical Society saw fit to single out Mississippi from the official guestbook, but the liberals in charge couldn’t find any reason to single out any other “racist state” to also exclude from the official guestbook? Hard to believe with the amount of condescension that flows out of St. Paul that there could have been more than a handful of other states that would have been able to meet the guestbook criteria.
