A couple good documentaries if you are looking for something non-mindless to watch

Since a lot of people talk about various personal health issues here for a number of reasons, I wanted to pass along two documentaries I watched recently and thought have good information for people to review.

First, is one called "Fat Head". It is done by a science writer that basically refutes the "Supersize Me" documentary. It discusses how a high carb, low fat and protein diet is the cause of obesity in America, and it's exactly what the government and health groups are demanding people follow to "get healthy". It gives an excellent easy understanding of why this does not work and why you gain weight and get worse.

Second is one called "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead." It tracks a very sick overweight guy doing a juice fast for 60 days to improve his health. Has good information about why a juice fast can help someone. (Also they don't have to be for 60 days!) But basically the idea of letting the gi tract take a rest from using energy to digest food, and use that energy to deal with other things in the body it normally doesn't have a chance to.

I watched those also plus the others mentioned up thread. I found that they pretty much all agree on one point, what the government allows the food industry to deem Healthy/Organic is neither Healthy or Organic and much of it is downright unhealthy and ends up either making you very sick or killing you if you keep eating it.

It depends if the proteins you are aeating have a lot of purine in them. Not all do. Check my above answer.
