I have zero faith that any of them have America’s best interest in mind.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed Trade Promotion Authority (TPA, better known as Fast Track) giving President Obama what Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) admitted is “an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president.”

But...but...America has just been recently assured by many prominent Republicans that passing TPA would not give him any more power.

So who is lying now?

Who needs Harry Reid when you’ve got McConnell doing the Obama’s dirty work?

Here is an article with the same quote...

GOP Leaders Set to Enable “ObamaTrade” With Fast Track for President 19 January 2015

Many Republican defenders of TPA are insisting that Fast Track is no big thing to make a fuss over, and that in no way should it be considered a transfer of power to Obama. However, in a January 6 press conference, the Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell, committed the sin of candor and acknowledged what all sensible observers already knew to be the fact: that TPA is “an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president.”
"Yeah, we're in active discussion on TPA, trade promotion authority,” McConnell told reporters. “It's an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president, but that's how much we believe in trade as an important part of America's economy.”

In January?!

Trade promotion authority or fast track gives up the 66% Senate approval the Constitution requires to pass a trade bill. That is thrown away for a simple 51% up or down vote in Congress, no debate and no amendments. It also gives up amendments . What this equals is a an Obama dictatorship as treaties override U.S. laws.It makes these bills unstoppable as no amendments are now allowed and only 51% to pass .

so fast track = obama rewriting U.S. immigration laws, gun laws etc. = the end of America

1985: Ronald Reagan articulated the goal of Western Hemisphere free trade

Reagan’s belief in the twin policies of deregulation and free market trade reinvigorated the American economy in the 1980s. Under Reagan’s leadership, we initiated a series of measures to ensure increased opportunities to sell American-made goods and services overseas, believing that exports equal jobs for Americans.
It was Reagan who first articulated a goal of free trade in the Western Hemisphere. America’s first free trade agreement with Israel, implemented in 1985, was a Reagan achievement. A US-Canada agreement followed. In 1986, Reagan launched the Uruguay Round, a series of talks aimed at the reduction of trade barriers among more than 60 nations. NAFTA, providing substantial trade benefits to US firms seeking to conduct business in Mexico and Canada—our best customers—was another initiative of the Reagan-Bush years.
Reagan’s faith in free trade principles was vindicated abroad by the crumbling of state-controlled, centrally directed communist economies.

It will be interesting to see how the Cruz supporters will snake around this one, but I predict they will.

The Duplicitous Party (i.e., “Democrat Lite”) has concluded it takes much less effort to crush conservatives and conservatism than it does to defend the Constitution. To the leaders of the Duplicitous Party (and to far too many of its caucus), political expediency rules the day ... honor, integrity, honesty and those other outdated personal traits are important only when convenient.

I am assuming this newly passed stand alone TPA House bill must get 60 votes to pass the Senate instead of a bare 51 vote majority to avoid a filabuster?
