This is the Game of Thrones S05e10 discussion thread. If you haven't seen this episode yet there may be spoilers here.
Still fuming at Stannis. Almost at Christie hugging Obummer post Hurricane Sandy fuming
Does Daenerys have greyscale now? Remember Jorah touched her hands during the last episode. And greyscale is highly contagious.
Shireen’s death was Martin’s idea, so it will clearly happen in the next book. Perhaps differently, but it seems somewhat unavoidable now.
My husband and I are in absolute shock that Jon Snow was killed off. What the...?
That wasn't written by Martin in the last book? Where did the last book leave off? (I haven't read any of the books)
Same here..
Unless they gave Bronn some extra antidote, then it looks like Princess Myrcella is done for. I don’t think Prince Doran is going to be too happy about that - especially with his son, Trystane, still on the ship with Jaime and Bronn. How will Prince Doran deal with Ellaria when he finds out what she did to Myrcella?
On another note, Ser Frankenstein (formerly The Mountain) made quite an appearance.
We haven't seen Tommen since (I think) episode 5. The actor is forgotten and easily replaced.
if i was the sparrow i would clear out now, before next season. with the mountain back in business and freakier than usual, and the queen not exactly in a gray mood......
I had seen an article earlier this week in which Martin, on his blog, was having to fend of angry fans over this, and he said that he has no control over what occurs on the show, and that the only thing he can control is what happens in his books.
This is contradictory to what I heard where show people were saying that story line with Shireen came directly from Martin.
So basically I am in the dark, and I still haven’t yet watched tonight’s episode.
The TV showrunners were saying that it was GRRM’s idea to kill off Princess Shireen the way that they did.
Please don’t read much of this thread... lots of spoilers here. (Including mine.. I saw the show ‘live’ tonight at 9pm ET)
We're the Others. We are the horror of the North and theoretically the real Big Bad Threat in this series. It's five books in, and we still haven't really gotten to do anything yet. To be honest, we're too bored to bother any more. We're going to invade Canada instead and subdue them to our icy will. Apologies everyone!
I started reading this series in the 1990's. BJC was president. The Towers were still standing after an abortive terror attack and the internet was new.
I am hoping the TV show will pushing him into finishing the darn thing.
I would write that the witch brings John Snow’s body back but his soul is long gone. Had a feeling he would get knifed sometime with the foreshadowing in third episode of season one. They will need a bad guy now. They have killed most all bad dogs. I keep waiting for Danerys to turn. She does got dragon blood.
Melisandre could bring Jon back, and because he was “dead” (however briefly), he would no longer be bound by his vows to the Night’s Watch. Even if he is brought back, what would his next move be?
Ok, can’t read any more until tomorrow, after I’ve seen the last episode. PING!
Save the realm for himself. He does have Stark blood. After Cersei’s public display, King’s hand Ned Stark’s bastard would be a step up for King’s Landing and that lot. Snow will have the loyalty of the wildings and knights watch men will have to be sacrificed to save realm. But seems I remember Danerys walking into throne room and everything had been destroyed so I’m back to thinking how I would write it.
I would love to see Tyrion sit on the iron throne with Danerys. I think he is awesome actor and very handsome. The little guy just knows how to work the charm. He’s adorable. I love that he killed that pos father of his on the loo. That was almost as good as Joffrey’s birthday death. I don’t like anyone mean to Tyrion. I wanted that woman and her fifteen year old breast feeding son flung down that moon hole for trying to kill Tyrion.
Yes. It was GRRMs idea.
Since they just got him to replace the last one, I don’t think they’ll replace him again.
Good. God. Almighty.
What an episode that was.
