State Police also arrested 61 people after they allegedly climbed fences and tried to push past security at the concert at MetLife Stadium.
Dozens of people were arrested and nearly a dozen state police troopers were injured when people tried to climb fences and push their way past security at the Summer Jam concert at MetLife stadium Sunday, state police said.
Concertgoers threw bottles and trash at police and security personnel; Troopers used shields and helmets to protect themselves, state police said.
Police used pepper spray, noise generators, and tear gas was used to remove people from the area outside the main gate, authorities reported.
The gates were closed and briefly reopened so people with tickets could go in, but they were closed again when non-ticket holders attempted to push their way past police. Some ticket holders were not able to get into the concert as a result.
“A small group of highly disruptive people ruined this concert for many others,” said Colonel Rick Fuentes, state police superintendent. “They created a danger to our ticket holders, stadium employees, and troopers on the scene.”
Some people were charged with assault, possession of a weapon, trespassing, and soliciting without permit; “The majority of the charges” filed were for disorderly behavior, police said.
Fifty-one people were arrested at last year’s Summer Jam concert. More state troopers were assigned to this year’s concert as a result of what happened last year.

This is the same ape-bleep behavior. Thank God no cops in McKinney were injured. Why do they even allow these animalistic hip-hop riots to happen knowing people will get hurt?
And what is wrong with these State Troopers for even taking this assignment? I’d be gladly fired before I’d “serve and protect” these animals.
