No Dorne. No King’s Landing. No Braavos.

I have to say – and I’m quite aware that Ramsay Bolton is intended to be thoroughly unlikable – I really dislike those scenes. It could be the writing, the acting, or the directing. Maybe all three. Just, heavy handed stuff screaming – HE’S UNLIKABLE! HE’S UNLIKABLE! HE’S UNLIKABLE! HE’S UNLIKABLE!

I get it. Ramsay is a sh##. Is any sort of subtlety or nuance too much to ask?

They did the same with Lysa Arryn. Annoying, Crazy, annoying, creepy, annoying, overly sexed and – oh, yeah – annoying.

We’re not children. We understand that the unlikable characters are unlikable. Please don’t keep hitting us over the head with it over and over again.

It’s like having someone say every 5 minutes: “Saaaaay, Tyrion … you’re kind of a dwarf, aren’t you?” We don’t need to be told such things.

This episode was better than the last one.

Loved Tyrion’s expression when he saw Drogon.

I thought the episode was kind of a snoozer, much like the rest of season 5.

I hope.

I HOPE Theon has it in him to Tell Sansa that Bran and Rickon are still alive and help her somehow!

Hopefully that will satisfy her anger.

So.... The Wildlings are on an Island? How did they get there without Ships? Since Jon Snow and Ragnar the Red Need Stannis' Ships to reach them?

Now I worry we will see more Baby Killing cause of that Little Sh*t Ramsay, are they expecting us to root for the Boltons?

Stannis needs to mount all their heads on a spike >:(

Also, Sansa being mad at Theon and no one questions the fact that Roose Bolton But a Dagger in Robb Stark's Heart?!!?

GAH! This is why Evil will always triumph, because Good is Dumb >:(

After the previous episode ended, I thought, "That was weak". Then I thought about it (quite a bit) and watched it a second time. I would now say that the previous episode was pretty good.

But tonight's episode? I'm going with, "That was weak".

I suppose it's just me.

Amazing feat that rescue of Tyrian - and where did the boat go? And how did they manage to end up so far away from the interior of Valeria? That was confusing.

can I just ask why conservatives watch this show?...did they or did they not have Dubya’s head on a stick?....

There are a number of objectionable parts to the show. I don't care for the sex. I don't like the language. The Dubya thing was uncalled for.

But so much of the world "crosses the line", it's hard to block it all out on the basis of ideology.

My undergraduate degree is in history -- I focused on Medieval studies. The plots, the sets, the costumes, the fighting is of interest to me.

Also, I believe that humans, going back thousands of years, were thoroughly bad and immoral. The real exception were the Hebrews who received laws from God and who practiced morality and knew wrong from right. Most of the world did not have a clue. Now, I admit that the Greeks had some very good advances also. But the Romans were a very bad lot. The Assyrians, the Persians, the Philistines, etc were worse.
And with the rise of Christianity, the world became even more moral. Not perfect, of course, but loving your neighbor, honoring God and the family, adhering to morality -- this was a major turning point for mankind.

I think Game of Thrones is a world with no Mosaic law, no Hebrew scripture, no Redeemer dying on our behalf. I watch Game of Thrones to see what the world would be like without God.

It shows why we need God.

If you read the book you’d know they are downplaying Ramsay. He’s not dislikeable he’s a psychopathic sadist.

I admit that I have not read the books (skimmed some). But part of my criticism isn't just the TV people, part of it is GRRM's story-telling. I've read enough of his stuff to consider him a bit like George Lucas -- he came up with a killer storyline; but his implementation is somewhat lacking in places.

Ramsay is too over-the-top. I consider him the most unrealistic (badly written) character.

Well, I haven't owned a television in over twenty years, but putting the head of the guy who replaced much of the coastguard with mall cops and initiated a surveillance state while refusing to secure the border on a pike...that's okay.

Maybe you meant to ask why a Republican would watch it instead of why a conservative would watch it.

Apart from not minding the head on a pike thing though, I wouldn't like something with all the sex in it this has. It appears to be inspired by Maurice Druon’s Iron King historical fiction series about King Philip IV of France with fantasy elements grafted in. I couldn't get through the first book on those, accurate as they largely are.

I too thought it was an excellent episode.

There were a number of really good scenes in it. I’d have to say my favorite was the one with Grey Worm and Missandei.

I like every scene with Shireen in it, no matter how small, and this week was no different.

I really enjoyed the last scene in the boat with Tyrion as well.

However, things are really deviating far from the books at this point, which I suppose should be expected, because there are way too many characters and plots in book 5 for a tv show to be able to contend with effectively I think.

I am also very sad to see the fate of Barristan Selmy. I was not expecting that.

When my brother first gave me these books as a gift, I had to force myself to begin to reading them, because of the W on a pike thing.

That was just about the same time that was in the news. I was like how can I read the books of a jerk like someone who would do that.

Now, many years later, I have to say that there are quite a few members of the GOP, in fact a very large number of GOP members, who I would be just fine with that being done.

Funny how things change.

I really enjoyed tonight’s episode. Not much action, but it seemed like they were getting characters into position.

I love Shireen. The scenes with her this season have been great.

For those of us who have read the books (and without giving any spoilers), they sure seem to be galloping through the books! Pretty soon, the TV show might actually be ahead!

I got your spoiler. I read all the books after season 1 and while a lot of stuff happens no conclusion is ever reached. It’s like a daytime soap opera.

The show is fun to watch but it goes nowhere.
