All the above posters are correct. But the short answer is that Republicans are worthless.

Because “Major Powers wants us to die in a loud, grotesque, military manner.”

I think you are close but I don’t think it’s information the FBI or NSA has obtained, this would be something a private investigator got.

Watch the turtle the next time he gives an interview and see if you notice something funny about his facial movements and constant snorting.

Because they are self-important, co-opted traitors, I think.

It doesn’t matter who, what, where, when or why - the only thing that *TRULY* matters is what we (the citizens) collectively do about it. So far, it appears we really enjoy screwing ourselves over and doing our best to destroy any future potential our nation may once have held.

Because the cushiest job in the world is to be in the minority in the legislature; no responsibility, no expectation and an easy excuse for no results.

the GOP is a part of the problem.

Because they get their cut of the money trough.

==

The GOP is the party of big business. When conservatives finally face that, they will quit being so disappointed in what the likes of Boehner and McConnell do.

The problem with conservatives is that they suffer Battered Conservatives Syndrome and won't extracate themselves from the Republican Party. They still think they can change the party from within. That hasn't worked since Reagan Goldwater. Hey conservatives -- it never will. The elites have too much power and money invested and will never relinquish control.

You guys make it much too complicated.

Republicans in Congress believe the narrative. That's all.

They are of two types:

1) Ivy-educated "public servants" who have never had a job. They believe what Democrats believe, they have some acting talent, and they do what they have to do at home to stay in office.

2) Small businessmen. They feel the Ivy Republicans are their superiors. They walk onto the floor thinking, "how did I get in here with all these smart guys?" They are easily influenced, using the "If the Leader says it's good, who am I to argue?" analysis.

Please give up your GOP fantasies. They aren't going anywhere.

The left has been remarkably successful in casting basic conservative views as stupid and/or mean throughout our culture. The result is that few republicans will forcefully defend those values. The left needs to be attacked hard; and I mean they need to be denigrated and mocked on a daily basis by anyone in a position to be heard. Our GOP acts like everything is just politics as usual when what is actually happening is a rapid shift to Left-totalitarianism.

Since they won both house and senate majorities, McConnell and Boehner are fighting everyday for the Obama agenda.

We will not overcome this, I fear.

That is the plan anyway. Taking the efforts and actions of this current administration in totality, I do not know how anyone honestly can not call it a communist putsch. Extrapolating to the end results, these neo-Marxists want chaos, civil war, foreign war, foreign invasion and economic destruction. They want the United States permanently crippled and out of the way, fundamentally transformed.

The decent American in me just would not let this ending enter my head. I have resigned myself to the idea that for years to come it will get worse...and worse.

The reason the Republicans aren’t fighting harder is because WE (as we the people) aren’t fighting harder. We don’t take to the streets, we don’t hold the politicians’ feet to the fire, or put pressure on CEOs.
We did that once - when the Tea Party was born, and it worked, but we’ve done squat since then.

We’re making the mistake to still believe in the “process “, i.e. elections, rule of law, the constitution- we’re past that. We’re in hand-to-hand combat.

Only if WE take to the streets again in a sustained way can we have a chance. But are we motivated enough to do that?

Because as a political party they don’t actually have a position, all they care about it power. Any position they take is just advertising to get you to vote them into power. And they’ll say whatever it takes.

They are shameless traitors that have basically said “eff you” to the very voters that overwhelmingly gave them majority control in 2014. I know what used to be done to traitors. Since we can’t seem to get term limits, perhaps we should revive some olde traditions.
