This emotionally exploitative Wells Fargo ad promoting homosexual adoption is so maudlin that it could literally induce vomiting:

As the article comments correctly point out, the simple solution is to discover the “OFF” button on your television. Commercial TV has been a cultural wasteland for decades yet threads continue to pop up here expressing shock and outrage. If you’re still watching this junk ask yourself why. Just cut the cord, folks. It gets easier every day and you’ll be amazed how much better life is once you do it.

SO, without an electronic, nationwide market for such women to locate each other, the odds that two such people who met each other, fall in love, and decide to marry and to have children by adoption (as opposed to having children through artificial insemination) are infinitesimally small.
In other words, gay marriage and adoption is based on wishful thinking.
BUT … if you want to believe … there’s a cure for cancer in the Amazon jungle, human emissions of CO2 are causing climate change, Yemen is an example of a success in our war against random workplace violence, and every economic indicator is going up.

You are correct in that most people would interpret it that way, but I have seen it used as meaning any sex in a non- procreative manner..Sodomy (/ˈsɒdəmi/) is generally anal or oral sex between people or sexual activity between a person and a non-human animal (bestiality), but may also include any non-procreative sexual activity.[
Depending on the venue, I think homosexual is more effective. “Gay” is an attempt to obfuscate and euphamize homosexuality, if that’s a word. Sodomite comes across as just a bigot, depending on the reader, so they will stop right there and reject any greater message. Homosexual is undeniable, as in, “why are you trying to hide what you are? Are you not a proud homosexual?”
