This brings to mind the 100 year anniversary of WW1.
What made “The Great War” so shockingly horrible was the modern weapons (machine guns, tanks, submarines, giant cannon) mixed with soldiers barely out of the 19th Century. The tactics, strategies, and sensibilities combined with the “technological savvy” unleashed a barbarism never imagined until that time in the history of warfare.
I know it’s not the theme of this thread, so I don’t want to “hijack” it, but the thought did pass through my mind that WW1 unleashed a new paradigm. I really hope that “Ferguson” has not done a similar thing.

It wasn’t long ago the local sheriff would have just deputized a few hundred armed citizens and done the job in no time.
But now we rely on militarized police forces decked out with gear they will never be allowed to use.
Actually, the US civil war unleashed it, WWI simply brought the carnage to the rest of the world.
It’s hard to believe that the mayor, after her abysmal performance — giving rioters the chance to loot, which she later had to dance around— is moving on up in the Democratic Party. I hear she is going to be the new DNC Secretary.

I always felt that the OWL hipsters, ISIS terrorists, LGBTQ & the “Baltimore crowd” were cut from the same cloth — a bunch of spoiled brats who are angry at the real world & either doing their own thing or trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Because not everyone or everything can be the way they want it to be, they want to make sure to take down everyone & everything with them.
I am a Daniel Greenfield fan, but I do not “get” the Koch brothers reference.
Obviously, there is something I am missing.
I have not read anything associated with the Koch brothers that sympathizes with or condones rioters.

As written.....The angry rioter is a sacred figure in the progressive pantheon of social justice. The shirtless men in bandanas carting away cell phones are so outraged by injustice that they are willing to take to the streets and do what progressive hipsters taking social justice selfies of themselves in souvenir t-shirts plastered with the face of the latest victim of “white supremacism” can only dream about.
