Happy Israel Independence Day
Sixty-seven years ago, upon Israel’s declaration of independence, Life Magazine noted (May 31, 1948, pp. 21-28) the odds facing the 600,000 Jews of the newly-born economy-starved and militarily-embargoed Jewish State: “King Abdullah of Trans-Jordan sent his Arab Legion against Jerusalem…. Egypt’s planes repeatedly bombed Tel Aviv. Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia pitched in….
The Arabs cut off Jerusalem from the coast by blocking the road to Tel Aviv…. The old walled city came under artillery fire…. A three-pronged attack was compressing the [Jewish] defenders into the Jewish Quarter of the Old City…. While King Abdullah’s Arab legion was spearheading the Arabs’ land offensive…. The Jews had little but light anti-aircraft to fight off these attacks…. A country the size of Connecticut is ringed by hostile neighbors…. Time and geography favor the Arabs, and England, which does not recognize Israel, is sending the Arab states arms, [while] Israel’s friends in the US aim to lift our embargo on arms…. Can Israel survive?”

Israel should be optimistic because it will soon be the literal center of the world (and universe) with the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ himself, ruling from Jerusalem as King of Kings and Lord of Lords for 1000 years (Rev 20:4).
For 4000 years, all of Hell has tried to prevent this but they haven’t nor will they be able to destroy Israel. But just before His reign on earth, Israel will suffer the most terrible trouble and persecution it has ever faced including the holocaust. But in the end, Israel triumphs because God is with her.

“You people” were Israelis to him and rather than learn about Israel and what Israel was doing, my uncle chose the easy way out. He listened to the media and bought the story. He’d even been to Israel one time, more than some of his kids ever accomplished.
The “You People” attitude is what’s wrong with American Jewry. That’s it. That simple. So long as Israelis are - you people, American Jewry will continue on its path to oblivion...

Never been to Israel, hope to go there soon. Someday we’ll be spending a whole lot of time there. :)
I've never been either nor do I expect to go...but I would want to definatly spend some time by the Galilean Sea and surrounding areas. Jesus spent so much time there with the people which attracts me. You know Joel Rosenburgh is now living there full-time. Moved there about a year ago I think. So he's now smack dab in the epic-center. If I were Jewish I'd be moving there as well!:)
