Cuba: Utterly failed economic and social system that can only stay in power by jailing or executing anyone who resists
We are told we need to feel sympathy for the Cuban people who have suffered from a U.S. embargo and lack of diplomatic recognition. That ignores a long history of oppression in Cuba no matter who was in charge.
Prior to Fidel Castro, Cubans were in the grip of Flugencio Batista who overthrew the existing government in September 1933 and then dominated Cuban politics for the next 25 years until Castros revolutionary movement took control of the capitol in January 1959.
Fifty-six years ago in 1959, I was about to graduate from the University of Miami and among my friends were young Cubans sent there to get a degree. I have often wondered which among them returned to Cuba and which, like those who could afford it, were joined by their family who fled Cuba.

Come on. That stuff happened before we were born. Who cares? /sarcasm
in case someone doesn’t know our president did say something to that effect
Governor Cueball is down there to make sure everything is on the up and up.
Batista was no saint, but please, it is nothing compared to the brutality of the Castro regime, not even close, it’s an insult to even compare the two.
Ha- His ‘memory’ (if you could call it that) reached back to the Crusades.

Batista did not sponsor an internal terror network. Under his de facto regimen less than 3,000 Cubans died in the war, half of the victims were among the revolutionaries and half were among the government troops.
The trail of blood and suffering left by Castros exploits, especially throughout Africa and Latin America, has had no bearing on the American sycophants support for the longest lasting and most brutal regime in the history of this hemisphere, they keep supporting Castro disregarding that his victims were both blacks and whites, Cubans as well as Latino Americans or Africans.
THE TERROR NETWORK - THEN SECRET WAR OF INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM by Claire Sterling is a primary source to delve into Castro’s terrorist long arm.
The fact is that Obama is embracing the same tyrants who tried to nuke New York and Washington in October 1962 and in November the FBI broke a plot by Cuban diplomats that planned a series of bomb attacks at Macy, Bloomingdale and New York Central Station during the most busy business day, the day after Thanks Giving, a terrorist plot that would have killed more victims than the attack to the Twin Towers.
The hate of the Cuban tyrants against the United States has not diminished a bit and very soon Obama will finance with American taxpayers money Castros international terror network.
Che Guevara expressed in paradigmatic words the essence of Castros regime when he stated: We must above all keep our hatred alive and fan it to paroxysm hate as a factor of struggle, intransigent hate to the enemy, hate that can push a human being beyond his natural limits and make him a cold, violent, selective, and effective killing machine.
This is the kind of regime president Obama and Pope Francis want to support, finance and perpetuate in Cuba and portray as a model to follow by the rest of Latin America.
