A group of homebuilders are beginning work on a project slated to bring about 1,194 homes to a 500-acre development along Lake Lewisville in Denton County, which is being developed by Charlotte-based Crescent Communities in partnership with Taylor Duncan Interests.
The builders K Hovnanian Homes, Highland Homes and MHI McGuyer Homebuilders expect to soon begin construction on the model homes of the community, called Wildridge, with the first models completed by June.
The homes will range in price from the $300,000s to the $500,000s. The homes will range from 1,800 square feet to 4,800 square feet of living space.
"These top-notch builders are bringing a wide selection of homes to Wildridge that will assist in realizing the aesthetic vision for the community, enhancing the property's character and the residents' quality of life by preserving the natural environment," said Steve Yetts, a senior vice president at Crescent Communities, who is overseeing the master-planned community.
Wildridge will include a community center with a pool, parks, walking trails, natural ponds and other amenities for residents. The community is located near Oak Point Elementary School, which opened in 2008.
North Texas' residential market has been hot as thousands of jobs are brought to the region through company expansion or relocation. This spring's rainy weather has caused a little bit of delay in construction, but that hasn't stopped the demand for homes.
No, just showing the growth here to people that don’t live here.
This seems to be right close to the North Dallas Tollway running up thru Denton/Collin Counties on to Oklahoma. The last portion from HWY 380-North is beginning to take shape. Live just east of the area. New service poles are being installed, and the water. THAT is the question. Ours locally is from a water co-op and has been restricted numerous times these past few years. Light Ranch Estates is now being completed and they have dug their own well and have a large water tank along with lagoons for rainfall. The lagoons were certainly used these past few nights. Lots of rain and storms passing thru. It is growing up here; just not as fast as anticipated. Once bo-jangles sat in the oo chair, everything ceased from a once very busy area. Now the time is near....all is begining to look ‘rosy’ once again.
You know the writer of that song, Malvina Reynolds was a hardcore commie?
More jobs for illegals.
They’ll eventually have to build 30,000, 5-story apartment buildings across the Texas plains for all the new comers.
BTW, like CA, the greedy corrupt illegal alien hiring developers will eventually pave over every square inch of earth. They always use the best land up first. They couldn’t care less if the roads and freeways are gridlock 8 hours per day.
Then they’ll demand more schools, more government, more jails...It all means higher bills, less water, less resources higher crime, jammed roads...You get it.
Bump
Wow
My development just added about 100 new houses in the past 2 years, they were all sold. The houses are beautiful and do not look at all the same as some other poster suggested. I am in Tarrant County and we can water twice a week. I suggested to my HOA that homeowners be allowed to replace lawns with hardscapes but no one else seemed to think it was a good idea.
And yet, there are still the same amount of reservoirs being drained by the exploding population. Were going to end up like Kalifornia if they dont start planning ahead about the water situation.
No, didn't know that.
I just know the song because it was the theme song of that tv show "Weeds" with the lovely Mary Louise Parker.
I won’t even drive on 35. My son drives that route through Lewisville everyday. Horrible!
AMEN! Right now the lakes are full because of all the rain we’ve had. We all know how quickly that can change.
Building on the east side of the lake? By The Colony and Little Elm?
We have smart people here. Maybe they'll start doing desalinization of Gulf water. I know all the newer government buildings here in Denton have tanks to catch and store rainwater, as above.
My wife drives to her mall in Lewisville most every day from here in Denton and sometimes has traffic issues, but nothing major.
Thats a great start, but still falls way short. Weve been fortunate with the rains this spring but summers coming and watering restrictions are being eliminated.
Desalinization needs to be put on the front burner. All that sea water going unused. Its a shame.
Not little for long.
Light Ranch Estates is between Pilot Point and Celina... just off FM 455 We see their water tower from our front porch Many home additions being built in the area. Another just south west of Celina with ?? number of homes to be built. Then, there is Carter Ranch on Preston Road. More homes just inside Celina. They began this several years ago, practically stopped construction and are once again going great guns. The area seems to be exploding with traffic and people. When that tollway comes further north, it will be even worse.
You could say that about almost any DFW area town. I’ve never seen an area growing so much, and I’ve lived in a lot of places.
Things are definitely booming around here.
