Well, there is at least one poll which came out today (CNN?) which has Cruz beating Hillary in three of the key states needed to win an election.
That does not mean 100% agreement on every issue; just that he appears more honest, more intelligent, more eloquent & more electable, than anyone else, even those only rumored to be interested, in the race.
Yeah I like to wait until the horse race is just about over to place my bet too.
What’s really going to shock the establishment if when the details on donors comes out in July that it’s discovered that most of the money comes from thousands and thousands of small donors and not just a few big ones.
My understanding is that there is no federal requirement to disclose the details of super-PAC donors.
your understanding is incorrect
I believe a previous report was that the campaign had collected about $2 million in direct contributions from individual donors within the first week or two.
I assume that would put Cruz’s total take at $35 million?
I guess there goes Jebbie Bush’s plan to clear the field by blowing everyone else out in the money game. Sorry, Jebbie; convert your dollars to pesos and move to your wife’s hometown. Run for office there; you should feel more at home—instead of importing more Mexicans to the U.S. you’ll already be surrounded by them.

he then beat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election by a similar margin, 56-41. Cruz is also endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.

Godspeed, Senator Cruz- Im all in.
Make that $4 million (?) previously reported plus the $31 million recently reported = $35 million?
The establishment in both parties are reading their tea leaves wrong. A huge number of Americans have had enough of one party destroying the economic, social, and moral fabric of this country while the other party stands by and does nothing or offers feeble resistance to it. That’s why you see Ted Cruz rising in the national polls while Hillary continues her free all. It’s early but the proof is out there that a growing number of Americans seek profound change in its governance.
Actually, I think his understanding is correct, at least in part.
Since the donations are not being made to the Cruz campaign, Cruz cannot provide the donor information to the FEC. And if the donors to the super-PAC are 504(c)4 entities, they are legally able to shield the identity of the donors. So while the identity of the 504(c)4 group is known, the identity of the actual donors is not.
