Gabby Giffords: Gun Control will curb terrorism.
Which is why multiple planes were flown into the Twin Towers and Pentagon. The type of weapon terrorists use to achieve their goal is a moot point for they will always find a means to deliver their insatiable wrath. If it's not a gun, it's a plane. If it's not a plane, it's a pressure cooker bomb. If it's not a pressure cooker bomb, it's a virulent toxin. You can't defeat terrorism by focusing on the garnish simply because you desire Gun Control above all else and see an opportunity to hijack a grave threat for a chance to eradicate a manufactured one. You defeat terrorism when you remove the roots of radical Islam and address the entire culture of hate plaguing Muslims across the globe. Until the international community unites in admonishing and punishing Islamic nations for teaching their youth to hate and murder the infidel - i.e., America, Israel, and Western Civilization - you're merely adding to an enduring legacy of futility and woeful ignorance.
I feel for Mrs. Giffords' physical struggles and rejoice in her recovery, but people - not inanimate objects - are the impetus and driving force behind every tragedy and every act of kindness. Human nature cannot be regulated by big government, although the human institutions of reason and compassion can be reached by teaching all children to see themselves in all things; to respect all. No two people are born hating each other. If they are taught how to hate, they can be taught how to love! Mankind merely needs to take the first step and stop making excuses for, enabling, the true agents of tyranny.
If people with guns (the policemen surrounding you and other speakers) could not prevent your getting shot in the face (terrorism), then how can people without guns keep you from more of the same ?
I have always had a bit of a problem with the old saying that money is the root of all evil.
It’s not.
In this world, the root of all evil is man, and man is also the root of all good.
It really is up to each one of us individually which one of these forces we allow to flow through us.
Well written, and it’s the truth.
Thanks for posting this.

“I have always had a bit of a problem with the old saying that money is the root of all evil.”
One reason you might have a problem with it is that is not what the Bible says. It says LOVE of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10).
It’s not the money, it’s the stuff.
Don’t know what you mean.
I do appreciate that clarification, but it’s not though.
It’s certainly the motivation for some evil, but not all.
I just don’t believe that goes far enough. Man is clearly the root of evil in this world, as well as the root of good.
There are many varying motivations for the actions man chooses to take, but man is the root. His presence here brings both good and evil.
Money is just a means to an end.
I see. Thanks.
Fortunately, Down's Syndrome people know better than Gabby Giffords, because they ain't brain-damaged...
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
It’s the love of money, not the money itself.
As we know, the Bible makes perfect sense.
There isn’t any such old saying, although some have been misstating the correct saying for many centuries. The correct and true statement is: The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.”
1st Timothy 6:10a
Yes, I’m sure that I am one who has misstated it, but I don’t believe it’s true or correct.
The love of money is a motivation of evil deeds, but it is not the root of all evil.
What is the root of pedophilia? It certainly isn’t love of money.
What is the root of islamic terror? It certainly is not love of money.
What must exist before love of money can exist?
leftists are insane, plain and simple
The quote says money is A root of all kinds of evil. Not the only root of evil, but one of them.
