Islam still has zer0 worthwhile content.
They may out number Christians but never will they surpass Christianity.
If God has me on this Earth in 2070 when I will be 101. I am going to have some words for him when I finally meet him. I’ll be deciding if HE gets to stay in Heaven....and don’t get me started on St. Peter. (JK).
Unless they all just blow each other up. :P
These estimates most likely, do not factor in the CRUSADES II or CRUSADES III......you just never know.
Try subtracting the cultural-only Christians and the cultural-only Muslims, then ask who has more adherents.
If neopagan religion is counted, isn’t that really becoming the dominant culture if it isn’t already?
That’s if ISIS doesn’t take over and kill all the unworthy. If that happens, Islam will trail Shinto, Jains and Zoroastrians.
I once read an editorial from a Korean newspaper that predicted a religious war in the year 2100 with a Muslim Europe against Christian China.
With the “Christian” leadership we have today it won’t take half that long.
Christianity grows while under attack, not necessarily in numbers, but in faith. That being said, moslems have a nasty habit of killing each other in greater numbers than non-moslems, so let’s let them battle it out for Mecca. Let THEM be their own birth control system. We can perhaps assist then by providing supplies laced with sterilizing agents.
Resolution 68
Problems of Marriage and Sexual Morality
The Conference, while declining to lay down rules which will meet the needs of every abnormal case, regards with grave concern the spread in modern society of theories and practices hostile to the family. We utter an emphatic warning against the use of unnatural means for the avoidance of conception, together with the grave dangers - physical, moral and religious - thereby incurred, and against the evils with which the extension of such use threatens the race. In opposition to the teaching which, under the name of science and religion, encourages married people in the deliberate cultivation of sexual union as an end in itself, we steadfastly uphold what must always be regarded as the governing considerations of Christian marriage. One is the primary purpose for which marriage exists, namely the continuation of the race through the gift and heritage of children; the other is the paramount importance in married life of deliberate and thoughtful self-control.
We desire solemnly to commend what we have said to Christian people and to all who will hear.
Resolution 15
The Life and Witness of the Christian Community - Marriage and Sex
Where there is clearly felt moral obligation to limit or avoid parenthood, the method must be decided on Christian principles. The primary and obvious method is complete abstinence from intercourse (as far as may be necessary) in a life of discipline and self-control lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless in those cases where there is such a clearly felt moral obligation to limit or avoid parenthood, and where there is a morally sound reason for avoiding complete abstinence, the Conference agrees that other methods may be used, provided that this is done in the light of the same Christian principles. The Conference records its strong condemnation of the use of any methods of conception control from motives of selfishness, luxury, or mere convenience.
Thanks a lot, folks.
Good luck gays and libtards.
Interesting, since Moo-hamed basically plagiarized and bastardized Juedo-Christianity to create his cult.
Thankfully, I won’t be a part of this world at that time. Sadly, neither will all the muslim loving voters who are here now.
Is this another “Global warming” article in disguise?
[Islam to surpass Christianity by 2070]
Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
I have read the study and there is a lot of good news for Christianity in here.
The study is based purely on demographics— not conversion.
Islam has negligible conversion capacity. It is quite alienating.
Christianity has most of its gains mostly through conversion. Ignoring that factor suggests that Christianity will in fact continue to be much larger throughout the century.
The study also discounts almost entirely the Christian population of china. In the appendix, they acknowledge that if they are even slightly off in undercounting Chinese Christians, it would complete change the statistics dramatically because it is the largest national population in the world.
There could easily be 100 million Christians in China instead of 10 million or fewer. In such a world, it would be difficult to match christianity for growth. Christianity will grow dramatically in Africa and has huge potential in China and Asia broadly based on conversion.
The potential collapse of closed societies means evangelism could brings tens of millions of additional Christians that Islam is poorly positioned to gain. The data also points to a demographic decline of Islam beginning in 2070-— that is probably why Pew featured that point in time. if you study the arcs of Christianity and Islam in the charts, it seems rather clear that the Islam arc will begin to bend back down as their demographics change.
The charts tend to downplay the demographic collapse happening in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and other parts of the radical Islamic world.
I think Christianity will likely continue to grow into a much larger religion in the world —perhaps approaching 40%. Christianity is and will be for some time arguably the most popular idea in the world.
So let’s kill 800 million of them...
