It's a considerably greater threat to liberty. Consider what New York representatives have done to your 2nd amendment rights, and now consider what Iran has done to your 2nd amend rights. Go down the list, taxes, free speech, 0bamacare, etc. and compare how NY's representatives have voted against freedom on every issue, and now look at Iran and ask yourself what have they done to restrict my freedom?
No he doesn't; he isn't actually that stupid. This is a ban designed to restrict freedom for LAW ABIDING citizens. You know, you and me the ones they want to make sure are unable to resist tyranny. Criminals aren't any threat to the government (you don't see crooks stealing guns from police stations - just corrupt cops), and terrorists are a blessing to the government because they provide a convenient excuse to remove freedom.
Unless the oath of office is enforced it’s just a quaint old ceremony.
Oh yeah, that’ll work. I believe that narcotics are also illegal, and how successful is that embargo?
Where there is a demand, there is a supply.
Yes. And unless the constitution starts bring enforced it’s just a quaint olde scrap of paper
That's because criminals run the government. Many politicians enter office with meager means, yet become rich after a few years in office. The salaries aren't that good. Clintons are famously rich from politics. Senator Feinstein pushed for a useless high-speed train in California, and surprise surprise, her husband Dick Blum gets the contract to build it. Feinstein introduced legislation to give $25 billion to the FDIC which then awarded a big bucks contract to Dick Blum to sell foreclosed properties. Hypocrite Feinstein carries concealed guns while denying them to ordinary citizens.
