In a recent video from PoliTech, some students from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX sought to find out how politically challenged our college-aged youths are. Several questions were asked to the students like, Who won the Civil War, Who is our Vice-President, and Who did we gain our independence from?

I would have missed a couple of those questions. Until I saw the video, I had never heard of Snooky, and I knew nothing of Brad Pitt’s love life.
And they are all eligible to vote.
Bingo!!! Videos like this one are theater, and correct answers make for boring theater.
“{Who won the Civil War
The civilians ??”
Easy. The Germans right after they flew the Hindenburg into Pearl Harbor.—Texas Tech History perfessor’
I work with a hot shot college graduate who was born in 1981. He thinks he knows everything and he always corrects me and tells me that I am wrong. I asked him when the American Civil War happened. He could not tell me which century it was in. He could not tell me if the American Civil War happened before or after World War I. His self esteem is very good. Yes, he voted for 0bama and always votes democrat.
But it isnt man on the street - it is current college students.
I know that. They’ll be the same as “Man on the street” in a few years.
I’ve watched enough “Water’s World”.
Yes we are over the Civil War. What is coming is the “Social War.”
The Slaves Won The Civil War.
As someone once said : “We should have picked our own damn cotton”.
Yes, it’s sad.
after watching all the ‘reality tv’ shows like ax men, swamp loggers, berring sea gold etc- it has become clear they are not reality tv- not In the sense of actual spontaneous video of people at work- I’ve caught the various shows in one manufactured scene after another-
The ‘bar fight’ between Scott and his captain where scott supposedly ‘broke a glass in the face of vern’ where you could clearly hear the glass break- I went through the scene frame by frame- and the glass was intact when scott’s hand dropped back to his side- and it was very obvious they dubbed I n the sound of glass breaking- I even confronted the show about it on A&E website, and they denied dubbing in the sound, Yet aftyer I explained I went through the video frame by frame, they went silent and wouldn’t answer-
Ax men- one of the workers supposedly got his hand caught between cable and log, and the operator yanked the log up the hill- and the logger went into antics pretending his hand was hurt- the log makes it’s way to landing, and I look at the glove and thought something was wrong- backed video up, and lo and behold, when the logger supposedly got hand under cable it was the LEFT hand glove, but when log got to landing, it was the RIGHT hand glove that was under the cable- woopsie doodle!
and just a whole bunch of other ridiculous crap where the cameras are always in the right spot to capture ‘spontaneous accidents’ like when swamp loggers were hauling a boat down the road- and trailer twisted off the truck’s hitch- cameras set up on bumper to catch the action- parker’s rock truck tipping over, cameras set up underneath truck to capture it- Todd’s father supposedly “accidently” knocking over wash plant with a log- camera strapped to end of log to capture the whole scene
[[boring theater]]
I’ve come to that conclusion myself, I now just tape these shows and get right to the gold count at the end- but who knows, maybe even that is fabricated as well- maybe discovery channel is loaning them the gold to make it look like they are getting more than they actually are- who knows?
The camera just shot from another angle as an assistant took the rock from the magician's hand, and placed a bird there. Then cue the “crowd” for the ew’s and ah’s.
The Battle of Mt. Song began as Chinese forces attacked heavily fortified Japanese positions on Mt. Song, in Yunnan Province, as part of a campaign to reopen the Burma Road, which had been closed since 1942. The Chinese eventually took the position after suffering heavy casualties.
Must have a great school system in Texas.

The problem is nationwide. You could have gone on nearly any campus and found similar ignorance.
Schools are no longer about education. They are about indoctrination.
Rome fell June 5, 1944
I think we are in the middle of the Gayla war now. And we appear to be losing.
I'm looking forward to the Shindig war. It should be fun.
He thinks he knows everything and he always corrects me and tells me that I am wrong...His self esteem is very good.

That’s indicative of his own ignorance. Educated and learned people know they don’t know it all.
At least it wasnt over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor...>snicker<

We deserved that because we didn’t do enough to stop global warming. /sarc
LOL!!! Thanks for a good laugh. We need as much levity as we can get these days.
