We live, as I have noted before, in a beggars democracy:
This refers to the more relaxed sort of despotism in which the lower ordersthe beggarsare permitted some modest freedoms of expression, so long as they do not challenge the basic assumptions of the state ideology too boldly.
There is no chance that any of us beggars out on the dissident right will have the chance to publicly quiz the 2016 presidential hopefuls.
We can dream, though. If I could ask the hopefuls 20 questions each, here is what I would ask them, by policy categories. I have restricted my list to questions an actual candidate might in fact answer.
There is no attempt here to be comprehensive. Im asking about issues that interest me. If trade, fiscal policy, or global warming is your thing, make your own list. The chance for your list to be presented to any candidate is no worse than for mine. Welcome to the beggars democracy!
Illegal immigration. Of all the problems currently being aired in the political sphere, this seems the easiest one to solve.
Universal compulsory E-Verify, with steep penalties against non-complying employers. This shuts visa overstayers out of the labor force as well as illegal entrants.
An Israeli- or Saudi-style fence along the southern border.
A ban on remittances by illegals.
An act of Congress ending birthright citizenship.
Would you have a problem supporting any of those measures? If so, why?[continued]

I like the cynical dystopian introduction, it ‘spoons’ with me.
The rest I’m still digesting.

Universal compulsory E-Verify,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
E-verify for all political positions, especially for the presidency.
Typically, that would make me chuckle but with this knot head in D.C. I just can’t.
If 10,000 or better yet, 100,000 or a million showed up at the capitol and executive mansion, they’d start listening in a hurry.
I’ve been tossing about about E-verify. Wondering how long it would be before the eponymous ‘they’ start using it to track and monitor or locate or profile otherwise legal U.S citizens.
I like the fence option. Deny them entry. The ones that are here already and denied jobs ... thats where certain problems begin, generally in the direction of crime statistics — but I’ve no proof.
I would spend a whole debate going through each of Obama’s executive orders and making each candidate that makes it to the debate explain exactly what they would do about each one, specifically.
All these executive orders that he makes, that I read in comments here, and on talk radio, that Obama should be impeached for or Boehner should shutdown the government to protest can easily be erased by a GOP POTUS with little or no debate.
On Obama amnesty, tell us exactly what you would do.
Cop outs like “I would follow the law” are not good enough and not even serious.
Make them tell us what exactly would they do.
Do you support the Article V movement and follow-up questions inquiring about specific amendments.
Here's one they need to be able to handle,
POTUS debates against Dems are nothing like interviews on the Mark Levin show. They are brutal
“Enesto was brought here at 4 years old from Mexico. He is now 20 in college after graduating high school with all As. He is a biology major planning on going to medical school.
This is the only home he knows, he has never been back to Mexico and knows no-one there and barely remembers it. His fiance is American and goes to the same college that he does. English is the only language that he is fluent on.
Would you issue an executive order that arrests hm as a criminal and deports him ?”
This is what is waiting for them.
Ben Carson just illustrated the unprepared for question breakdown early in this cycle. He would have helped us better if he said nothing on that subject.
Easy answer: there are medical schools in Mexico and, based on my meager knowledge of that nation’s public health, I’m sure they’d welcome such a stellar student. Since we’ll also be deporting his illegal parents, and likely grandparents, they can help him work through his language problem when they all get back. The fiance can still marry a doctor, he just won’t have the same financial future.
“And, don’t blame the media! The media are businesses, go where the money is, and where the journo-lists take them. “
Actually I blame the media before I blame the politicians. We know the politicians lie. We know they are interested in no one but themselves and their donors.
However, it is the media that has been given the job of providing oversight for the American People to keep politicians honest. With no fear that the media will do anything, a politician can do whatever he pleases.
If the media did their job, Obama would be waking up today deciding which Chicago businessman he could extort.
+1!
Join the Sunday Talk Show thread. We discuss this issue all the time and point out media biases all day long.
My post was an inside joke for those who have followed Obama’s eligibility and his blatantly forged birth certificates.
Thought the Tparty did this in 2010ish and the press ignored it so it never made any difference.
