Men invent far more things than women do. Actually, amend that, white men invent more stuff.

Yeah right! I see it every day.

They say we are equal in every way yet they clamor for more laws protecting them. They continually want more standards reduced so they can be Police, firemen, members of the seal teams But they are equal in every way. I suggest that someone look at the physicality of the two sexes. Now they are not only equal they are better genetically. What is next. Oh I know, I read that sperm can now be created in the lab. Bye men!

Back in the 50s or early 60s, Ashley Montague wrote The Natural Superiority of Women. This is not a new idea, it just hasn't really proven out yet.

“Plus, if women are so much better than men, then how come they are always asking me to get something from the top shelf, or kill that spider, hmm?”

Well, you might just be proving the notion. Who’s smarter the one asking or the one doing?

If they were smart, they’d realize the spider is doing them a service, and that you can reach stuff on a higher shelf by standing on something.

Both Evita & Hillary hitched their wagon to a star & rode it to the top. Both wielded enormous power in hubby’s name.

Eva Peron tried & failed to be named vice presidente of Argentina. She later died of cancer at age 33.

Hillary tried & failed to win the Dem nomination in 2008 when she was already 60. Her latest attempt may not pan out.

Now....Margaret Thatcher began her career in politics and rose through the party system to become prime minister in a far more traditional way. Quite a difference, IMO.

A highly educated female friend of mine pointed out the following differences in upbringing between men and women in USA. The oversimplified explanation is that men are encouraged to compete in everything they do while growing up while women grow up having tea parties.

So male belligerence is not necessarily genetics but much influenced by culture imo.

I will never believe that. Genetic inferiority, indeed. Men and women are so biologically different, how can you honestly determine this? Sounds like an excuse for sex-based genocide.

“male biology has brought the world war, corruption, and scandal"

Quite right.

Almost all of the really bad things in human history have been done by men.

But then, almost all the really good things in human history have been done by men.

That's because men did most of the things, good and bad.

It would be equally accurate to say that little real evil has been done in history by people under age 10, and for exactly the same reason.

The same can also be said, for the last few centuries, about the evil white man and Western Civ.

Sure, we committed most of the great crimes. We also fought and defeated our own criminals, forced the rest of the world to give equal rights to women and slaves, and created the vast majority of the world's great music, art, literature and science. And just about any other positive contribution you can bring up.

This is, BTW, classic liberal POV. Good things happen by themselves and so nobody and no group should take credit for them.

Bad things only happen when bad people (generally by definition white, straight males) cause them to happen.

In actual fact, the reverse is more nearly true. The natural human conditions is dirty, nasty, brutish, short lifespan and violent.

BTW, I happen to think women are in general as capable of accomplishing great things in today's world as men, and that non-white groups, given the opportunity, may also be so capable.

But they'll need to get out there and do things, not just whine about their minor accomplishments not being given proper credit.

I insist the figures on life expectancy are skewed by the percentage of men who are heard to utter the phrase “Hold my beer and watch this.” The phrase should be banned.

Yet they’re always yelling about “equality”. Why do they want to come down to OUR level?

Pay no mind. Konner is one of those smirky profs whose tenure allows him to spin off books on all sorts of peripheral but pretentious questions, being spared the necessity of serious reflection, or --well-- coming up with answers.

Looking around the internet, I see a few matriarchal societies that have existed:

5 Successful Societies Run By Women

This article mentions the Ede, Mosuo, Hopi, Chambri, and Herland. Most people would say, the who? and the answer would be, "exactly."

We should also include Detroit in the list of any matriarchal societies, because the black lower class is raised by single parent women, + the government, with no men to be found.

This is a bit much.

I think sexes are different, and thus, stronger in some ways than others versus the “opposite” sex.

(Grammar NAZI moment: It’s not “gender”, it is “sex”!!!!!)

Of course, I also read the Natural Superiority of Women, which my sister got for me when I graduated college.

http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Superiority-Women-5th/dp/076198982X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1425922307&sr=1-1&keywords=natural+superiority+of+women

Now, it was written long ago, before feminism was big and PC. So I think there are some flaws in facts due to lack of research. But either way, very interesting, food for thought, and not to be taken more seriously than the many ipso-facto men-are-superior pogroms implicit in society.

Women, he believes, do not become corrupt, they are not scandalous, and shall not ever plunge nations or the world into war.

LOL.

Ok, someone is not reading current events, or studying world history.
