The prospect of selling pot is just one "what if" scenario that tribal leaders say is possible. But what the Poarch Creek Band of Indians want now is for Gov. Rick Scott and the Republican-controlled Legislature to take them seriously and approve a compact with the tribe that would allow a casino....

Just wait til they grow the pot and arrest the tribe members involved. They wont talk nonsense like that anymore. Seems the self-entitled left of centrists thinks they can blackmail or make threats for self-enrichment these days...

the only thing that produces a beast dumb enough to burn their money in a casino is alcohol. That’s why they give it away. Stoners are more likely to not leave their rooms, order room service, and smoke more pot.

hey why not seeing as the feds don’t bother enforcing their own drug laws or marriage law etc . Might as well threaten and break laws ourselves then.

Why not have a casino AND a grass farm? Go big or go home! Will smoking be allowed on the casino floor? An ideal revenue enhancer and eases the pain of losing too!

It’s supposed to be sovereign land, they shouldn’t have to ask the government permission for squat.

    This is total BS.
The “tribe” named is a Creek tribe, based in Alabama, not Florida.
No “Federal Treaty” tribal land rights in Florida, as far as I can tell, for that particular group.
No law against them buying Florida property, but that property is not “reservation property”, it's simply investment property, and not given special tribal legal exemptions, just because the tribe might now own it.
