In short, liberal thought is shot through with magical thinking
“Can’t see the forest for the trees”, the old saying goes. That means that one’s vision is blocked by too close a proximity to the object in question, that details can obscure the bigger picture. Reality is lost in a forest of individual items, sometimes seemingly unconnected, but when viewed from a higher perspective form an interwoven tapestry, a greater whole.
As Pontius Pilate asked of Jesus 2,000 years ago (or thereabouts) what is Truth? Truth is the agreement between reality and human expression, and human belief. Reality has been defined differently over the ages, Merriam Webster defines reality as:

For liars, the truth is a relative term used to define what they want it to be. For truthseekers, truth is black and white. It s either true or false.
Liberals are liars.
To which Jesus remained silent, demonstrating to Pilate that He Himself was the truth, an answer that so unnerved Pilate that he washed his hands of the matter and refused to take any further part in the trumped up fraudulent charges.
