Message to Upper Canada College: This is no time to let political activists lead your students on a sleepwalk through the harsh reality of terrorism
ISIS must be sending out resounding cheers for media-darling whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald, for leading Canadian high school students through a sleep walk on the dangers of Islamic terrorism.
According to former Guardian journalist Greenwald , a Canadians real-world chance of being killed in a terrorist attack is infinitesimal.
Thats what Greenwald told almost 1,400 Upper Canada College students who watched a one-sided online talk titled, Privacy vs. Security: A Discussion of Personal Privacy in the Digital Age, only one day before ISIS released its grisly video showing Jordanian pilot Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh being burned alive.

Strap a parachute on these two and push them out of a plane over an ISIS camp. Let’s see how that works.....
They are talking about “Possibility vs Probability”.
Is it possible you could be killed by a terrorist? Sure. Possibilities are endless.
Probabilities are very finite and predictable.
Is more probable your Constitutional Rights are being violated every day as opposed to the possibility of being attacked by a terrorist?
I would say the probablity of your rights being infringed on each day are at least 99.0%, while the possibility of being a victim of terrorism are 0.00001%.
I made up all these statistics, so they’re probably true and you can’t argue against facts.
Unless you live on an island marooned from reality...
(None of this directed at the OP)
Let’s see. In on 9/11/2001 about 3000 people in NY and DC were incinerated and crushed by building collapses out of a current US population 300,000,000. So chances of being killed by a terrorist in the US during that year were only 1 in 100,000.
Of course, if you limit yourself to NY City and environs where 30,000,000 live, the chances were only 1 in 10,000 -— not exactly infinitesimal. As I remember, that is more probable than chances of being struck by lightning, but perhaps more probable than the chance of a single woman over the age of 40 getting married again.
If that single woman over 40 is Halle Barry, Denise Richards or even Andie McDowell then she is not only completely marketable but, still within the warranty period for servicing...
Good points.
Though, I’ll have to agree with him in that the possible/”Over There!” is being used to distract from the definite/”right here” — or, more simply, we should [in general] be more concerned about what our very government is doing in the here/now than in the possibilities over in distant lands.
