Whitney Houston wasted her talent twice: By agreeing to record horrible songs solely because they were written by blacks and second by doing drugs. She was a great singer who sang incredibly bad songs, and when she did get a good song like “I will always love you” it was completely over produced most likely because of cocaine abuse. The only really good songs she ever did was the ones she sang before she got into hard drugs: “You give good love” “Saving all my love for you” which is a brilliant song and the “Star Spangled banner”. Everything else she did was utter crap written by gangsta punks.

No matter your status or fame, if you have a substance abuse problem, you prolly should take showers instead of baths.

“I Will Always Love You” was written (and first recorded) by Dolly Parton.

“Saving All My Love For You” wasn’t an original either; it was first done by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., both formerly of The Fifth Dimension.

Songs like “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “Didn’t We Almost Have it All” were written by white people, too.

Maybe Clive Davis chose some songs for her. He’s a producer who has been well liked and trusted by musicians for over 40 years. Clive just published a book that describes his professional life, but I’ll bet there is a library’s worth of books based on that same 40 years that he could never publish under his own name except as fiction. Heads would be rolling.
