My daughter will turn 19 this month. She is our fifth child. She has also been the most worrying to us as she started using drugs a long time ago. She said she first smoked weed at age 12. Since then she has gone on the try many other drugs to include meth, cocaine, pills and LSD and a few others I cant name. Last year she was in intensive care for 8 days. She has also been in jail about seven or eight times and gone through rehab twice. She is currently living with her mother and I at home but things are getting very tense. She broke up with her boyfriend and says that the stress of breakup makes her want to go get high and chill with her friends. Her friends are not true friends as they are also on drugs. Every time she hangs out with them she stays wasted for a couple days and I had to take her to the ER twice due to overdose on alcohol. Add to all this she has been beat up several times and raped twice that she has admitted to. When you add into this chaos the fact that my wife suffers from a mental illness which is made worse with stress it gets even more chaotic. Now I am at the point where I will soon have to make the choice of allowing my wife to be hospitalized because of her mental illness or I put my daughter out because of the strife she is causing. Weve offered her all the help in the world and she continues to go on binges and tell us that what we offer wont help. The last time she got wasted she told us all to Go f*** ourselves. That night she left the house and was brought home by the police when they found her walking down the highway. As a parent I love my daughter endlessly. But I dont see how (or why) I should continue to allow her to destroy the rest of the family. But at the same time I feel guilty for what I am considering. We cant force her into treatment as she is an adult and Im afraid that she will either end up in prison or dead. All this started I believe because she started smoking weed. The weed lowered her inhibitions and resistance and she started doing other drugs. So I truly believe that weed is a gateway drug and should never be legalized. If someone needs it for medicinal purposes they should have to go to a pharmacy for it just like we do with other prescription medications. It hurts me to do it, but I think I may be evicting her from the house today when I get home from work.
“neglecting your family”
There you go again, getting personal and making assumptions
Only going by what you have posted in the past.
By attacking and vilifying those who disagree with drug use, yes they are doing that. Especially when they go off topic and attack someone personally.
Maybe not by you, but it happens all the time.
I have known and been around and lived with pot smokers for decades, I see the effects in my own life, but because I don’t want it legalized my opinion is NOT valid because I’m poor and a loser.
That is the very definition of someone who supports the use of drugs.
When I see one side of an issuing making personal insults and lying as a strategy, yes I very much side against them.
So do not tell me that is not what is happening, I am not quite that blind yet.
Nobody has been attacked or vilified just for opposing drug USE - those who also oppose adults' drug FREEDOM have been flamed.
drug freedom?
lol
Prayers for you and your family.
And 1/2 of them don't understand them.
What in the sam hill...has happened to FR????
My opinion, too many players are clued in to Hold’em. If you can play with the same people, that helps as you develop instinctive reads on them. Then you can beat the game for 3-4 BB per hour with an occasional streak of 10-20 bb per hour. But if you’re casino hopping and not developing ‘customers’ then you’ll barely break even depending upon the rake. This is a generality. Never know when you’re going to run into a pack of loose docile puppies and kittens.
PLO is a different beast altogether. Most of the people know what to play, but simply get starved for and caught up in the action and will venture out on dumb hands and over play them.
I like to short stack PLO games. It’s the best strategy for me, then I leave if I get to nosebleed levels.
That’s okay. It is now crystal clear what the intentions are — unrestricted access to drugs, kids be damned.
Or if 12 year old baby takes up the habit it must somehow be their fault. Must be abuse or maybe they are an addict, or some other excuse.
This has been very educational. Thank you.
But apparently I am the only one who noticed it and pointed out this “obvious” fact.
All I heard from the other side was that it was all her fault (or her parents), that she must be an addict or some other lame excuse for the tragedy. The kid was 12 years old when she started. A baby.
Bottom line: it was very educational for me.
Whatever twisted logic you guys come up with, what I found most telling is your response to the original post — not that it was a tragedy and that she was way underage and shouldn’t have had access to it, but that you guys attacked the victim.
Clearly your priorities are not for the safe use of pot. Because parents who blame a child first will be more tolerant of use at a younger age and may even offer it to their kids.
And I respect a person's right to whatever they want to themselves and with their lives....
As long as, and here is the kicker:
AS LONG AS WHAT THEY ARE DOING DOESN'T HURT ME, MY FAMILY, OR ANYONE ELSE. Sorry, not yelling. Not proficient with html otherwise I'd make it bold italics.
Most Libertarians seem to ignore this point.
Yea, great. By your posts, you need a lot more of it. But I'm afraid that, like hysterical leftists, you won't let reality cloud your world view. Like the reality that you lied about what I posted to feed your made-up outrage and sense of superiority. You know, like progressive do.
I'm happy I could be of service.
Lol.
