(CNN)Here we won't go again.
No Mitt Romney 3.0. No "third time's a charm." No invoking Ronald Reagan's two failed presidential campaigns.
No 47%, car elevators or dog on the roof. No Bain Capital. No Olympics.
The media can say goodbye to a plethora of story lines as it prepares to cover the 2016 presidential race.
But other than mourning the (substantial) loss of some well-tread fodder, the announcement that Mitt Romney will not be running for president a third time does little to change the 2016 outlook for Republicans. There's still an establishment candidate in Jeb Bush, if he runs. And the rest of the very deep Republican bench -- with the possible exceptions of Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. Chris Christie -- would have run whether Romney was in it or not.
But the absence of Romney in the field is a big loss for Democrats, who were not-so-secretly hoping he'd throw his hat in one more time.

Now, let's see......which RINO is the lamestream media going to foist on us now?
I worry about how the establishment zeros in on a candidate early and all the conservative candidates split the vote. If there was an option of 2 candidates only, one conservative and one establishment, the conservative candidate would win every time.
WOOOOOT
I thought Jeb Bush was the win-win for the Dems? Romney was capable of doing the right thing now and then.
The Dems will grow to love everything about Jeb except his maligned last name.
I’ll bet the commie ‘RATS had already started dragging out their dog in the car top carrier jokes. It’s looks like they’re going to have to come up with some new, original commie shtick.
I hear that Revrunt Sharpton..says...thats he’s down for his buddy Crisp Crispie!!!
Nope, Jeb is far more vulnerable than Mitt.<p.The left knows EVERYTHING about Jeb and they’re eager to share.
For 21 years the GOP had this guy running for office, and from all of it, he won a single election and served as failed one term governor that left office with 34% approval.
Why 21 years? Because he so despised Reagan that he had left the party in 1979 and didn’t become a republican again until October of 1993.
People also forget that for years in interviews, and on TV and radio, that Romney had tried to create the myth that Reagan was “adamantly pro-choice”.
They’ve still got Chris Cristie.
My lib family members were on Facebook celebrating, because they’re convinced that most of Mitt’s donors/voters/support will go to Jeb. They think Jeb is quite easy to beat. One was afraid of the “moderate” candidates dividing the middle vote during the GOP primaries.
ANY MALE R will lose against the beast or fauxchahontis.
Skin color has already been voted. It’s time for lady parts.
Mark my words. This idiocracy will choose lady parts over ANYONE else.
Another Bush would be the final nail the Pubbie Party. Given the choice between a Dem and a RINO-Dem, Dems will go with the Dem every time.
Because there are probably too many conservatives that aren't going to vote for another Bush for years, Jeb has less than a snowball's chance in Miami of even coming in a distant third to the dead cat put up by the Meadow Party.
If Jeb or New Jersey Tansfats gets the nomination then it means that we as Conservatives didn’t do our job to stop the raise of the moderates as in with Romney and McCain.
