It is articles like this that, eventually, get through to people outside the liberal elites that the liberal elites are seething with hatred for people who aren’t like them. The NRA has helped protect freedom and promote safety and security for Americans since 1871—it is a most noble organization of individuals who donate their time, money, and efforts to doing the right thing. You can disagree with NRA opinions and actions, as many good Americans do, but if you HATE the NRA you hate millions of good Americans and you hate good. Liberalism is incompatible with good.
