The January 26th edition of The New Yorker imagines a world where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. marches arm in arm with some of the most polarizing news figures from 2014 and the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
The publication is known for its controversial covers, but this one entitled The Dream of Reconciliation shows Dr. King with Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and New York City Police officer Wenjian Liu, who was killed by a gunman in December peacefully walking with arms linked as an American flag waves in the background.
Artist Barry Blitt who drew it says he was inspired by the photographs of the Selma-to-Montgomery march that have gained popularity due to the release of the Selma movie....

Hell yes they do; it also pleases their liberal brethren in the ivy league faculty lounges.
This reveals the true mindset of white liberals. They need to be opposed, marginalized and never trusted.

Bo Dietl -- Bill de Blasio Should RESIGN Tomorrow!
When MLK marched he marched against the Democrat Party Establishment that wanted a go slow approach to Civil Rights.
JFK wanted to hold together a coalition of white segregationists, white liberals and black voters to win again.
MLK seized the political initiative from the Democrat Party and was a threat to its agenda just as the TEA PARTY is a threat to the GOP Establishment.
So the Democrat Party (the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations) put the FBI on its spying missions that uncovered MLK’s sex life.
The Dems wanted to control King.
Didn’t Michael King crush the skull of a white prostitute the day before his murder?
Are you saying that Democrats opposed civil rights and Republicans didn’t?
I don’t remember it that way.
This issue was handled the same way by both parties.
Except MLK spoke about “the content of character”, and thus would likely have not hung with those guys......
When can we have a Ronald Reagan Day?
Or at least everyone go march on George Washington’s birthday?
“The Dems wanted to control King.”
So King went to the communists for support.
Barry Goldwater and other libertarian minded states rights Constitutionalist Republicans voted NO on the Civil Rights Act, but most Republicans voted YES as in the more liberal Republicans.
Among the Democrats a majority voted YES with southern Democrats in the NO column.
The political strategy of JFK and the Democrat Party which is also portrayed as LBJ’s in the movie “Selma” was all about breaking down laws in the South that prevented black people from getting registered to vote.
The Dems wanted to get black people registered to vote so they would vote for the Dems.
MLK was interested in more than that and a genie of protest had been unleashed on the country in the late spring and early summer of 1963 after the protests he led in Birmingham. The big crowds King drew in northern cities and later with the March on Washington scared the heck out of JFK who feared for his re-election.
This is when the FBI was unleashed.
This is one area where the Liberals did a better job.
The Democrat agenda in the 1960s was to get black people registered to vote Democrat and keep them Democrat with pork.
Civil Rights (1964-election year), Voting Rights (1965), Fair Housing (1968-election year) with the Great Society welfare state programs in tandem brought the descendants of slaves onto the Democrat Party Plantation.
Putting aside the aspect of motives, they still did the better job.
