“The Interview” now available on Google Play and YouTube Movies
Google Blog ^ | December 24, 2014

Last Wednesday Sony began contacting a number of companies, including Google, to ask if we’d be able to make their movie, "The Interview," available online. We'd had a similar thought and were eager to help—though given everything that’s happened, the security implications were very much at the front of our minds.

Of course it was tempting to hope that something else would happen to ensure this movie saw the light of day. But after discussing all the issues, Sony and Google agreed that we could not sit on the sidelines and allow a handful of people to determine the limits of free speech in another country (however silly the content might be).

So starting at 10 a.m. PST in the U.S., you can rent or buy "The Interview" on Google Play and YouTube Movies. It will also be available to Xbox Video customers and via www.seetheinterview.com.

Meanwhile the Hate Department blamed a filmmaker who offended Islamonazis and saw to it that his film was pulled from youtube (even though it violated no copyright laws).

Has Paramount dropped their ban on screenings of Team America (it was sought by some theaters that had planned to screen The Interview until Paramount put the kabosh on that)?

No. There’s no way even with this extra hype they’ll make anywhere near the money they were going to make. Losing 3000 screens pretty much guarantees it’s a flop.

No coupon needed if you find the right site. That’s all I’m saying.

Wouldn’t it be FUnnie if the Norks try to cheat Sony out of money by themselves making it available online for FREE?

If Sony really wants to get even with North Korea, they would release the film for free! The more people who see it, the better...right? This issue is too important to try and profit from.

I would like see a video of the Gangnum guy do that dance dressed up as Kim Jong-Un surrounded by Nork imagery like high-heeled Nork chicks in sexy military costumes.

I got a feeling Sony might make it FREE down the road. In any event, this could inspire an interest in Nork stuff and imagery. I get a kick out of watching Nork military parade videos set to heavy metal music.

Sony is company, not a charity, the sole purpose it exists is profit. Charities can handle “issues”, Sony is just desperately trying to break even on what was probably going to be a hit and is now a disaster.

And it is heavily discounted compared to the price of other movies.

The InterLoo is just$5.99

While Gone Girl goes for $12.99 and Frozen @ $14

Pretty sure this movie stinks.

Yes, but Sony is a Hollywood company, full of liberals. Liberals hate capitalism, and capitalism is all about profits. If the Sony liberals really want to attack capitalism, they should release all their movies for free.
