In this dramatic video of an attempted armed robbery of a gunshop in Springdale, Arkansas, on December 6, 2014, one robber is wounded, and the gunshop owner is hit by a spent bullet that does not break the skin.
The two suspects, Marcus Gould, and Leon Roberson, are from California and are in custody. Gould has a long criminal record, and was wounded in the arm by a shot fired by Shirley Cornett, who owns the store with her husband. A bullet fired back was slowed by coin books on the counter before it hit Shirley. From 5newsonline.com:
Police said 25-year-old Marcus Gould and 20-year-old Leon Roberson are in custody after attempting to rob the store carrying semi-automatic pistols. They said the owner, Shirley Cornett, pulled out her .38 revolver and shot Gould in the arm as he was jumping over the counter towards her husband, Clint. It appears that more than four shots were fired. One or two by Shirley, at least one by Gould, and at least two by Roberson.
Owner Clint Cornett spoke to 5NEWS about the incident at their home Sunday night. Cornett said his wife was still very shaken up, and said the bullet that Gould fired back at her hit a stack of books on the counter, then hit her chest. He said the bullet did not break her skin.
Bullets flew across Thompson Street on Tuesday after employees of a pawn shop thwarted an armed robbery.©2014 by Dean Weingarten: Permission to share is granted when this notice is included.
Shots fired at the robber zipped from C&S Gun Shop across Thompson and hit the plate glass window of P&N Oriental Market. Witnesses said shots also hit a silver or tan vehicle used as a getaway car.
Pic #2 -—> Pants down, don’t shoot.
Pic #3....
More Amish violins.
Amish are ten times more likely than whites to commit murder.
Young Amish men, although they are only 1% of the U.S. population, commit 53% of the murders in the United States.
We once again see what kind of idiotic morons are stupid enough to rob a gun store. I guess when they cased it out they didn’t notice there were armed people on the premises.
A Taurus Judge might be a good defensive weapon for a store like this.
I wonder, at what point do more restrictive gun laws just cause criminals to be more bold and violent? It seems like they often get their guns by stealing them.
In some countries where gun laws are very strict, criminals murder police to get their guns.
Small shop manufacture of guns is also very common.
I just love a happy ending!
The video is quite clear that both of the men fire their weapons, even though there is an obvious lack of skill.
Life for both of them...
How many times do you see the shop owner, Shirley, fireing her revolver? I had a hard time being sure...
1 - Clearly
2 - Probably
3 - Good chance.
I had a hard time being sure that the gun fired because the muzzle blast did not show as it did for the first shot.
WOW! I’ve been in that store many a time! and have bought several guns from him over the years! Glad they are OK! Glad the perps are in custody!
“A Taurus Judge might be....” an appropriate applicator of Social Justice.
I have been thinking about an award for Shirley.
Something on the order of:
Courage in the face of Armed Criminals
or some such.
Would you be willing to present it to her if I drum something up? It isn’t as if we have any question of propriety or motive.
So California is exporting its criminal trash to Arkansas.
I wish Arkansas had sent Moonbeam two bodies instead of having to feed these animals for the rest of their lives.
Assault with a weapon
Assault with intent to murder aka “Attempted homicide”
Use of a weapon in a robbery (aka Armed robbery)
Conspiracy to commit a criminal act/ aka armed robbery
These two Michael Brown wannabes are toast and won’t be getting any awards from Obama and Holder for how they turned their lives around. A pardon, maybe ...!
>>If you watch the video carefully, you can see that Roberson is having trouble with his semi-auto. He repeatedly works the action, as if it were manually operated. He may not have had a round in the chamber when they entered the store.
Train, train, train. And buy quality hardware.
These guys don’t.
String ‘em up! That’ll stop ‘em!
I suspect that Roberson is an appropriate and apt name.
It looks to me like they “cased it” when they went in, then made their plan in the middle of the store as they whispered to each other.
Constitutional Medal of Honor, 2nd Amendment.
Exactly. I mean, what was the plan here, how did they see this turning out?
Of the two local firearms shops I tend to gravitate to I can't conceive of anyone stupid enough to try anything at them. In one, literally every employee is carrying. I haven't asked, but I think it may be a condition of employment. It is a big shop, probably 10 people working/armed in there any time I've been in there. The other place, well, the guy is a class 3 dealer. There are loaded machine guns on the premises (up to and including several M2s) and the owner loves to practice with them. Given his remote/rural location and clear fields of fire it is a sure bet that if you start something there, you'd never make it off his property in anything less than a Bradley.
