This is *still* not totalitarian enough for those who claim to have a monopoly on "common sense". Nothing ever is.

The judge decides whether or not to suspend or revoke the permit and has local law enforcement confiscate the guns.

So the permit doesn't actually permit you to have a gun? Sounds like it just tells the cops where to look.

I wonder how many unfortunate boating accidents have happened?

The interesting effect of this is that there is NO WAY my kids will move from Texas to states like New York, NO WAY. The people there may have to live under those draconian laws, but people with a CHOICE as to whether to move there do not.

My kids are not idiots and do really well. I cannot see these policies doing anything but hurting them economically.

I find this interesting...

As some groups in the U.S. have lost confidence in the police, the rest of the population is IMHO, not far behind.

Most of the protesters regarding police over-reach have actually been white, and that segment is growing every day.

If 10% of the citizens wouldn’t accept it, and it would probably be many times that, that could be 30 million altercation. Many of them wouldn’t end well... It would be an impossible task for the government to confiscate guns.

Many of the gun owners are older and fought in our countries’ wars. Just saying...

Of course, I don’t have any guns.

Bet these rules do not apply to the elite such as Bloomberg’s private army of security guards, NYC Mayor guards and NYC police force, NY Gov. and his private army of security guards, etc. If there were any investigative reporters left (other than Sharyl Attkisson) I’m sure there would be an explosive story about the abuses with these people and their lackeys.

What important thing that is left out of this bureaucratic process? The victim of it all. Pure bureaucratic fiat. Where is the chance for the citizen to contest facts or file an appeal? Suddenly, without warning, police show up at his residence demanding that he turn over his guns and his Constitutional rights.

And if the person protests or does not hit the ground fast enough, he is put out of his misery for "resisting authority while ostensibly armed"....oh, wait...that is only OK if those who judge already consider him a creep because sometimes cops are perfectly within their rights to kill someone who doesn't deserve to die, while other causes should prohibit the cop from any sort of action.

It all gets so confusing as to whether some folks will support or protest when a cop kills a citizen.
