The president is about to “legalize” 5 million undocumented aliens “living in the shadows in the USA”.
Let's not quibble over whether or not he has the legal authority to do so; when he does, the executive branch will treat the commandment as legal, so de facto it will be legal.
Where things start to get a bit tricky is in the implementation of this mass clemency. How exactly are these shadow people to demonstrate their eligibility for this benefit? We must assume the level of foreign documentation these people have is somewhere between zero and the whole ball of wax. So the implementers – in the interests of fairness – must be prepared to accept zero documentation as sufficient to prove that one is a shadow person.
And there's the fundamental problem with this action based on a lack of something (legal residence). Anyone can prove themselves eligible if the standard of proof is nothing. I can give the same proof of living in the shadows, you can too. My whole family and all my imaginary friends can.
Anyone can.
So, a humble suggestion: come the amnesty, leave your wallet at home and go sign up, once, twice, as many times as you can bear. If you're not comfortable doing this in front of your neighbors or folks you know at town hall, go to the next town. But sign up. Let's Cloward-Piven the heck out of this illegal monstrosity. If zero wants 5 million central americans signed up, let's give him that PLUS 25 million more newly discovered Americans. All laws have unintended consequences, this non-law needs its illegality and its illogic thrown back in its face the minute it is signed.

there seems to be are systems already in place in treasury and the IRS. An illegal can already federal pay taxes as they can have a tax ID number. there was a raid in Colorado concerning this issue. Businesses can hire workers with a tax ID number so they can show their employees comply with federal statutes and they all are paying taxes. All they have to show is that the Tax ID is their number and bang, one hurdle down.

Seriously, I do think this is a very good idea, not only to overwhelm the system, but because I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that in the future that conservatives will need alternate identities to escape persecution. After that, we may need a place to go and reverse coyotes to take us there.
The other thing is that those with criminal backgrounds will jump at the opportunity to establish a new identity.

I've long said that an undocumented alien "living in the shadows in the USA" may very well be the last free man in this country. He lives, works and goes about his life as he pleases, and the State has no idea who he is.
Coming out of "the shadows" is the equivalent of snapping on the handcuffs -- because now he has a name, "papers" of some kind, and a taxpayer ID number (which is the real reason why the U.S. government is hell-bent on amnesty; make no mistake about it). What exactly is the upside to this?

Let’s do.
IOW, we already have de facto legalization.
- Borders are open, border patrol has been disarmed
- Illegals are being housed, fed and relocated at taxpayer expense
- Illegals are being given driver licenses and allowed to vote (in many areas)
- Illegals are being given federal tax numbers and allowed to work
- Illegals are allowed to collect government benefits
- Illegals are allowed admitance to public schools and colleges. And being charged lower tuition than AMERICAN CITIZENS
Ipso facto, they are not illegal, there are no illegals. Everyone is legal, regardless of origin.
Thus, there is no Republic, except in name only. We are living in a third world style banana republic led (ruled) by an imposter who is kept in office by undocumented criminals (congress).
Well, in the most extreme cases, you could “hang up” up your old SSN, work under the new one, and if your relationship with the IRS ever turns sour, wish them luck in getting their pound of flesh.
And please don’t overlook your distant relatives in Europe, they deserve a slice of the pie too. Right?

Your comments are thought provoking. I wonder how the Feds are planning to handle this? I never really put a lot of thought into this. Are they going to set up centers and have a pied piper go trolling ? Announce instructions on TV ? Set up at Walmart? How are they going to stop at five million? This looks like it could be the real FUBAR from hell.
Most of those “working in the shadows” will pay almost nothing in taxes. (Income, Fica, Medicare, etc. The burden will fall again on the dwindling middle class.
Just to shove the concept of unintended consequences down the throats of the Mexican Supremacist crowd, a concerted effort to bring millions of Ukrainians into the country as refugees should be started.
After all, they really do have a refugee claim, unlike ordinary Mexican peasants merely seeking gringo cash.
If the Hussein administration won’t accept them through the normal channels, then a service to fly them to Mexico and point them at the border could be started. They would be instructed to walk up to the CBP guy and say “I am seeking asylum as a victim of Russian aggression”.
Or just escort them to the border at say, Sasabe, and let them walk across in the desert...by the thousands.
The screaming would be endless...by Mexico and Obongo.
The concept that white Europeans by the thousands could play the Victim game like brown Mexicans would make their heads spin off.

...and that’s probably their plan, start some kind of processing and wait for the flood at the recently disarmed border. I say give ‘em their flood, but not quite the folks they were expecting. Like my 26 brothers and sisters from London.

The compliance rate of Illegal Immigrants is near ZERO.
I would think all the criminals (USA) that have used aliases and fake SS#’s and have been convicted could then have standing to sue under violation of the Equal Protection Clause. Laws don’t apply to “special” people who can break them without worry of penalty if caught.
