Coming after almost a week of speculation following a US airstrike in western Iraq, it now appears that ISIS Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has died. In a claim circulated through an ISIS website the leader has died.
The news come from Al-I’tisaam Media, affiliated through the group, who posted on Twitter:
“We will soon publish details about the killing of the Caliphate Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the nomination of a new Caliphate for the Islamic State.”
Last week there was an airstrike on a convoy of cars near Al Qaim, Iraq. It appears that Baghdadi was injured in the strike. Now the Islamic State is saying that he has died. News has leaked into just several sources so far.
The new leader will have access to much power and funds which will be tempting for all the warlords of ISIS. If Al-Baghdadi is truly dead the ensueing infighting over his power could seriously weaken the organization. This is all best case scenario stuff but it is the reason the guy is/was targeted.
I wonder if he gets 72 virgins for each piece.

All you say is true. Killing a leader won’t stop terrorism. Defeating a democrat won’t stop liberalism. Just because it doesn’t stop it completely is no reason to NOT be excited when a enemy leader is killed. I say rejoice.

That was what my high school class of 1953 had to say when we heard that Stalin had died. Clearly we were all of the same mind ~ he wasn’t really dead. It was true and many more would take his place just as we’ll see many, probably much worse, take this creep’s place.
Yeah well, we have no real confirmation Baghdadi is dead. Killing Bin Laden only ramped up terrorists.
I’m still not even sure about Bin Laden, where’s the body? How convenient they said they buried him at sea.
