The defiant Maine nurse who made headlines for openly disobeying New Jersey- and Maine-ordered quarantines upon her return from West Africa admitted Sunday that her 'community has been through a lot.' But she refuses to apologize for her battle, accusing Gov. Chris Christie again of mistaking 'an abundance of caution' for 'an abundance of politics.'
The defiant Maine nurse who has aggressively fought her government-ordered quarantine, has finally softened her tone.
Days after a Maine judge rejected the state's attempt to keep Kaci Hickox quarantined, the freewheeling caregiver admitted she'll take precautionary steps to appease federal and state medical officials and concerned members of her community.
"I understand that the community has been through a lot in the past week," Hickox said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "And I do apologize to them for that. I will not go into town into crowded, public places."
Nevertheless, Hickox, 33, whose public battle against officials was triggered after she was placed under mandatory quarantine in New Jersey upon her return from West Africa by Gov. Chris Christie, remained critical of the policies that resulted in her isolation in the first place....

I'm guessing her biggest problem with Governor Christie is the (R) after his name. The same with the Maine governor.
I also think CDC told her to shut the hell up.
Why would she suddenly “(soften) her tone”?

One suspects that the Ebola Czar must be very busy
controlling all news until AFTER the election.
Reality of the situation: We just had a big snowstorm in Maine and I wouldn’t be going out anyway...
She’s a case study of how to antagonize the neighbors.
Her reticence to be quarantined was all political.
I think the powers that be took a look around the internet and reliased she is both universally hated, and the public face of the Obama administration’s Ebloa response.
They better test her again for Ebola....

If anyone exposed to her contracts Obama-Hickox disease (ebola) she should be criminally charged.
Sounds like this self centered leftwing wretch is taking some heat from the public.
I suspect her softening her tone has to do with the fact that after the press leaves, she has to live in that town where (it would seem) folks are tired of her and coming to despise her.
She’s a pariah in her own neighborhood. Neighbors are shunning her, for longer than 21 days.

someone’s rear end felt roasted for making herself the center of the universe. it’s called public condemnation, and she got it.
Where does she work? Where is she getting the money to live? Eat? Pay her mortgage?
Even if she has been influenced by government to oppose the quarantine, she could have self quarantined anyway.
I hate when people go to lengths just to draw attention to themselves. It would just be better not to try to make oneself so damn important.
What hospital or health care facility would ever hire this person to work for them? She clearly is more interested in herself than her patients. And, yes, I know she cared for Ebola patients. But 1) even that seems like it was for her own interest rather than her fellow man, and 2) does not excuse her carelessness towards others.
