Once the pinnacle of civilization, the UK has succumbed to the culture of death once again. A mother was granted a petition to kill her own twelve year-old daughter, who was not dying of a terminal disease, not on life support, and not able communicate her wishes.
If youre ill and unhappy, or just unhappy with life, death is the answer, according to supporters of euthanasia. Dying by your own choice is all the rage in Belgium, with a 27% increase in doctor-assisted suicides in the last year. Both Belgium and the Netherlands have legalized child euthanasia by the childs own choice, although Belgiums law has no age limit, so technically an infant could request his own death.
The sick devaluing of life into a simple equation of quality boils down to the same argument abortion-lovers use: its just too much of a hassle to care for someone else, so lets kill them.
Liveactionnews.com chronicles the story of Nancy Fitzmaurice and her mother Charlotte Fitzmaurice Wise.
Nancy Fitzmaurice, born blind with hydrocephalus, meningitis and septicaemia, could not walk, talk, eat or drink, the Mirror reported.Mother knows best? I realize the heartbreak of caring for a disabled person is difficult, especially when the condition is irreversible. But who gave a mother the special discernment and power to end her daughters life, when that life was not in danger, or being artificially prolonged? Her health was so poor she required 24-hour care and was fed, watered and medicated by tube at Londons Great Ormand Street Hospital. Her health deteriorated and as she grew she would scream in agony for hours despite being given morphine and ketamine.
Her mother, Charlotte Fitzmaurice Wise, knew the pain her daughter was suffering was too much for the 12-year-old to bear. She deserved to be at peace and had the right to die, knew her heartbroken mother, who had given up work as a nurse to be with her.
So they killed Nancy, by starving her and dehydrating her to death.
The judge praised Wise for her love and devotion towards her daughter which was shown by her fight to kill Nancy. The judge ruled that she had no quality of life anymore, and therefore, she should be killed by refusing to give her any food or water until she died. It took her 14 days to die.A few years ago, a father in Georgia was tried for murder for starving his child to death, and convicted of involuntary manslaughter with a 10 year prison sentence, while the mother is serving a life sentence. In the UK, Nancys mother wasnt charged or sentenced, rather the judge sentenced helpless Nancy to death by starvation. Such a sentence is a crime against humanity in every respect.
The suffering and agony a child suffers dying of starvation and thirst is simply horrendous. Nancy committed no crime, other than being disabled and a burden to her mother, and apparently, to society in the United Kingdom.
In America, we allow mothers to order the death of their unborn infants, without regard to the horrific effects of being poisoned or torn to pieces alive. In Washington, Oregon, Montana, Vermont and New Mexico, physician-assisted suicide, a form of euthanasia, is legal. Its not much of a leap to see child euthanasia happen here.
After all, its nothing more than death-on-demand, anytime, at any age. Thats exactly where the culture of death wants us to go. If an individual doesnt add enough quality to our lives, just kill them. That explains what theyre really saying when they send hate-mail imploring us why dont you go kill yourselftheyre saying if euthanasia was legal, wed start with you.
Remember that when the first child is murdered to end suffering here.
People in Great Britain are not in this case that “great”, are they?
This is a tough one, and I thank God I will never be in this position. Just one little disagreement, the article makes the argument that the child is not being kept alive by artificial means.........when someone can not eat or drink and must be fed by a tube, that isn’t natural.
Death comes easy to Liberals...
a mass murderer is given an injection of something that will end his life painlessly...the reason they don’t do that with the terminally ill, or in this case, severely handicapped is that they, then, would have taken an actice part in the slaughter and they don’t want any part of that...called a lax conscience.
