We’ve had German Shepherds on the farm for decades.Recently added a Rottweiler to the group, for a little extra canine muscle.Break into our house and you get to deal with the dogs first, which is actually a lot better than having to deal with me or my wife.
They’re effective in urban environments too. A 6 foot chain link fence makes the combination even better.
This is something of a first. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an armed robber confronted by a gun and arrested, escaping and trying another armed robbery, only to be greeted by a gun again. And not getting shot at all.
That fool’s guardian angel was working overtime, but could have saved a lot of effort had he just imparted the fool with some brains or common sense.
Works for us too. My Doberman will rip the face off anyone who messes with me. Intruders won’t even get past the door before getting some body part chewed off. I think they’d actually crap their pants just from his bark. LOL. He’s a keeper.
too much restraint. half measures when a full measure was needed.
Mine will alert me but little else but that’s fine.
How did the perp escape the sheriff’s deputies? Not very confidence inspiring, is it?
My son’s retired K-9, a Belgian Malinois, is our house guardian. If you feel like feeding her, come on over. You can be her dinner guest. She’ll lick you to death. Now it is my son’s Ruger you’ve got to watch out for.
Boy, this guy was brazen!
Dogs, backed up by guns.
The scary thing here is even the dogs’ barking didn’t deter him. These facts make me think indeed he was intoxicated.
Barking is usually good enouh to deter, because they do not want any attention. Such were the Labs.
A good bold Shepherd may deter just by the appearance, and will also cross the line when the crook crosses the line. Not to rip them apart, but grab and make sure they don’t do much.
My motto has been, my dog backed up by my gun. That should be a odg-beware sign.
I have a greyhound. He would gladly lead any burglar to the refrigerator. Sigh....
