Dallas County Sheriff Deputy Michael Monnig went to an urgent care clinic in Frisco, Texas with his wife on Wednesday
A witness at the clinic described him as 'hunched over and flushed'
Ebola test results are due back Friday evening
The deputy was inside the apartment where Ebola patient Thomas Duncan fell ill - the officer wasn't wearing protective clothing
The CDC said the person is not one of the 48 contacts being monitored
Liberian national Mr Duncan, 42, died from Ebola on Wednesday morning
CDC officials have told Monnig's family there was 'no risk' he had been exposed to the disease

We don’t know that for sure. Oh you believe because they are still alive everything is okay???
There is a 3 week undetected period. We will know for sure in 3 weeks.
Good question, and indicates that depsheriff may not be positive.
Good news. I wonder how soon after infection they can detect it—e.g., whether they have to be symptomatic.
I think if I were being monitored for 21 days after exposure in the way he was exposed, I’d make myself rather green in the gills, feverish, and otherwise unwell just thinking about it all.
"CDC officials have told Monnig's family there was 'no risk' he had been exposed to the disease"
Unconscionable.
Quite a bit more with Duncan. Fever especially.
Test results for the Sheriff are due back later today.
There will be lots of people with psychosomatic symptoms of Ebola.
He went in with stomach pains. I cannot imagine myself in the same situation, and not have stomach pains, even if completely "healthy".
Monnigs condition is listed as good, with no fever, vomiting or diarrhea. His condition is not consistent with an early stage Ebola diagnosis, according to the statement provided by the hospital.

Of course.
CDC was completely MIA.
Actually 21 days is the longest incubation period. Some people get sick in as little as 2 days. Average is about 10 to 12 days with over 90% getting sick sighing 15 to 16 days IIRC. Someone posted a chart showing this.
As you said correctly, though, you can’t be sure for 21 days. Although if the deputy is symptomatic, tests can confirm whether or not his symptoms are from Ebola. We should know with respect to him later today.
PS I’m doing this from memory so please forgive if I am off a day or two, but that’s the general gist.
I think stress and worry would have given me fatigue and stomach pains the following day.
LOL!

Anyhow, it was a week ago he grabbed Duncan. I would say if the Deputy has nothing in 3 weeks, then he will be in the clear.
No, the question is why didn't Monnig tell the sheriff to stuff it and let the chips fall where they may before subjecting himself and his family to a deadly disease? I'm betting he was all giddy over getting the chance to peep into that apartment and couldn't wait to text his friends all about it.
Tests don’t come back for 48 hours.
I had thought the same thing, plus his mind has to be racing imagining symptoms.
